Some dudes have been very active at uploading a shitload of galleries. Getting high in the toplist by uploading galleries that I don't particularly like. Stuff that you can find for free elsewhere on the internet. Lots and lots of minor updates, upldated every time an artist farts. I think this site would benefit if one or more of that type of uploader would quit.

This was brought up some time ago, and I absolutely agree.

Those gallery are freely accessible on free sites from the most part (mostly Pixiv), and they don't need to be reuploaded if not for a translation/coloring/uncensoring edit.

Unfortunately Tenboro's solution for this was the uploader filter option.

Noni. I don't use my serious tone often, but when I do, I do.

If you look closely at every top, all of them are led by people who go overboard in the respective domains, more often for wrong reasons than not. Every top is a battle field in which absurd fights occur.
But keep in mind that whatever their reasons, including greed / need to exist just as much as pure altruism, they are contributing to the website and that's why they are rewarded.
Don't forget either that if one gets GP out of gallery spam, then it means someone had at least a mild interest in it and that's all that matters. Tenboro is absolutely right to give the users tools to avoid things they don't want, to moderate the content they have access to by themselves.

Perhaps you should ask yourself how others could perceive your efforts that you probably consider as very helpful yourself. Perhaps you should ask yourself what keeps you going on. Perhaps you should ask yourself why some people keep doing these things you can't comprehend.

You once told me that "he's just that way, we're all more or less special in a way or another and don't always understand each other". Time to apply that for absolutely everyone, don't you think so?

As much as I have difficulties to bear with a few things here and there myself, at least I can acknowledge the efforts of people, and that effort itself is all that matters. As long as it doesn't bring any harm, then it's OK.

It's not very nice to throw stones like this at uploaders. If they were that bad, Tenboro would have launched rockets long ago and Joe updated the gallery rules to prevent that kind of things.

So we should delete all pixiv stuff? And all galleries that available on translators blogs and other hentai sites? E-hentai is in alexa top 600 worldwide because it's true inclusive platform for hentai, not some half baked cove of elitist overseers.

I've seen artists delete/private their works on pixiv enough times to make me motivated to backup their whole galleries here. And this also applies to tumblr blogs and twitter, nowadays you don't know when h focused accounts can get purged.
As with internet in general, if you are drowning in the information you don't need, gotta make use of the filtering and sorting tools.

Create a script to check artists every hour and grab their stuff. Now that I earn my own money, I have been buying big HDDs to back up all the stuff I never had the chance to when I was young. Some stuff is there and the next moment, it's gone forever. You never know.

Pixiv ripper script can do all that, it's pretty impressive piece of code, dunno about other places. Though instead of saving stuff for myself, I like to be the part of combined effort that shares the uploads. Boorus and private trackers operate on the same principle of individuals pooling their efforts together, but even with scripting they don't have everything.
