In regards to the falling prices of HGC, I agree with Uncle stu's hypothesis. Too much supply too little demand, strangely enough crystallized phazon only suffered a mild drop from 210k ish to 195k ish on wts (Perhaps due to demand holding strong in wtb?). HGC seems to be hovering around 13k-14k these past few weeks rather than falling bit by bit as it did before said few weeks. I still think it's going to fall, I guess only time will tell if Jug Santa's right about the rise in HGC price in the future.

Personally I didn't even notice a drop in phazons.
I still sell them between 190 and 200k exactly like before...
Same for Fox/Owl/Cheetah (17/17/30k).

It was bound to happen, before the prof rework (aka go mage or go extinct) the price were slowly falling (a couple year ago HGC were at 20+k) now that the mage conversion is over and there are even more 1000+PL monster there are a lot more High-Grade seller than buyer.
And since the market is not stable further reduction of price will probably take time.

I'm also pretty sure that a lot of players have thousands if not ten of thousands of Mid-Grade materials (probably enough to crash the market).

At the current trophy prices, it's up to 80M credits to achieve a peerless.
Translated to 35M per star, that's over $200 USD.

Well the problem with those trophies is that FoS willl never ever pay for itself. So one has to sell Stars on a regular basis, or be a really big hath baron. And for the later it is not helpfull that hath prices are as low as it is. Therefore i am absolute sure we will never have a replacement for blackjac when it comes to buying trophies. Well that is only one part of the truth. Another one is that iirc hath prices did really start to fall when every participant of the Yuletide Lottery got a cookie and by that a daily hath for each cookie. So over the years we are talking about a lot of cookies and a shit-tone of hath.

I cant agree with that. For me it was nice as long as it lasted. But even before his price drop, he didnt got me even 20% of my whole income. I mean if you do all the arenas do get all the trophies you make in the end much more credits for the arenas as blackjac would actually pay for them. And also even when you wont be able to sell even a single trophy to another player, you are still able to get some credits out of them. By selling them to the item shop, yeah, not the best idea imo. Or you just shrine them and sell and/or salvage the equipment they give you. So it is not as if now the income of everyone would drop to zero. (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)
