It works, but it's more for keeping the outside cool than the inside. If you don't have a window for the fan-in-the-window or the fan-in-the-cooler tricks, there aren't many options I know of that won't cost a lot of money. The simplest option is to cover the walls with single-sided [www.fsec.ucf.edu] radiant barrier. Supposedly plain old aluminum foil can work but I've never tried it myself. If you want real gains, you'll need double-sided plus insulation plus roof sheathing. This is still significantly cheaper than buying and installing reflective shingles.

If you stop eating for long enough, you'll feel cold in any kind of weather. Best of all, it's free (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)
