a thing to consider when using imperil with 2H is that in non-SG rounds all or nearly all monsters need to be affected to see a notable reduction in turn count, otherwise the one surviving unimperilled monster will slow you down, whereas with 1H or DW each imperilled monster saves time even if it doesn't affect all of them
i've tried longsword arena runs with imperil-2 imperil-5 imperil-8 bound to keys and hitting them once at the beginning of each round. this barely takes any time but i still lose about 20s in T&T over non-imperil, which i attribute to turns spent losing or not gaining overcharge as well as the reduced effectiveness of partial imperil
making sure that every monster is hit by imperil results in the lowest possible turn count, but only reduces real time when using a mace, whereas with a longsword it's faster to spend as much time as possible attacking

QUOTE(Basara Nekki @ Apr 16 2018, 00:51) On the contrary. To my understanding this shows that using a shortsword is not as bad as many say. I think the result was good considering the difference in investment between the swords.
As I said in a previous post, I'm still going to do a test with a shortsword forge level 50, but probably only after I can complete my slaughter set (main priority), and upgrade it to level 50. I can not be spending a lot of resources at the time.
Even if it's to show that, the only thing you're showing right now is at best that forging doesn't make that huge of a difference, sadly. Unless forging does have a huge impact and shortswords actually rock much more than expected. So basically, you cannot really take any conclusion from this, as you have got one parameter that makes some noise. Don't get me wrong: I'm not saying it's easy to perform tests in appropriate conditions and I'm perfectly aware that it's quite hard to have two comparable weapons. Maybe you can acquire a rapier without any forging ([ alt.hentaiverse.org] I got that one if needed) so that you don't need to forge heavily.

DwD 3811turns, finally made it in less than 30mins. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/mellow.gif) For a long time, I thought imperil was useless for 1H rapier. Now casting on monster1, 4, 7 at the beginning of each round makes me damn faster. If I don't waste vital strike like 10 times on not stunned targets, I can ppl hit 3700 or even less turns....Finally DwD everyday is not a nightmare anymore

Players tend to forget that it takes a few turns to proc Penetrated Armor twice on a SG. But despite that, I thought that the benefit of using Imperil with a rapier was negligible. Looks like it's much bigger than expected. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/mellow.gif)

(IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/mellow.gif) yes, you see a bit of difference even with PA x3 stacked. it's way more evident on FSM though - possibly because he has higher PMI?

not sure how you come to this conclusion. But what my experience tells me is that vital strike is necessary. I put vital strike on mouseleft and cast on SGs as soon as I click, so I don't lose any t/s. Vital strike is the only skill I would use in SG runs, and OFC is totally a waste of time as I've had some tests. For the 3SG rounds, in which I cast imperil 3 times at the beginning, the others are all almost dead due to counters before I cast vital strike on the third one. So your goal is to kill SG as fast as possible, not the others since they die sooner. OFC is ppl not a good choice. Maybe you should give a try and use vital strike instead of OFC, if you are using. If one has very good savage equipments, it's quite easy to often one shot SG. Also just wanna make sure to mention that mine is holy strike+dark infusion, plus full holy/dark imperil. Advice from Uncle was super helpful. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Good news, uncle has killed RL and has now just to hide the body. He will be back this weekend or next week. Bad news, another RL has in the meantime killed uncles grand aunt. Damned bone cancer killed her in just a week after it was found. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/mad.gif)

Good to know (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/happy.gif) QUOTE(Uncle Stu @ Apr 17 2018, 21:49) Bad news, another RL has in the meantime killed uncles grand aunt. There is basically no cure for it, and when you notice it, it's already too late. I just hope it didn't hurt for her until the last week :\

I didnt really know her that well. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif) I really hope when i actually kill someone i will be too smart to post info about it in the internet. I just hope it didn't hurt for her until the last week :\ Well, it is not really sad for me. I was not that close to her and i guess i will just go to the funeral for grandma stu. Yeah, i had the same thoughts last week. But even i was suprised how quick it actually killed her. And i allways think about the worst case. Well, at least it is over now and it was quick. So i guess it could have been worse for her, i mean at least the close family could say their good byes. So... Well, life has to go one. See you all soon. Have seen a few people doesn't looked very sick and having obvious synonyms, but die soonly after entering the hospital.

(IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/mad.gif) I'm sorry for your loss, man (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) Life sucks so many times in so many ways, that I'm always surprised when sometimes I see people desperately attached to it even in the worst situations. For me, after having lived a nice and reasonably long and healthy life (like 80ish), to go quickly and without suffering is the highest desire I have. I will change my idea only when it will be possible to move our minds in other bodies, that would be interesting !

Now I think that's exaggerating. If not, then the health care system in your country is seriously terrible.
