Well, it's certainly not worthless! But after the 1st, which is a really good investment, the following stars may have lower return on investment than selling a gold star or using the cash to rent a dedicated H@H server.

More than just a hiccup then. You could try checking network tab, using different browser, using a different IP, using the main or alt site instead - might narrow down the problem if it's still happening.
