foobar is the best with all kinds of plugins why would you use winamp?

seems to me foobar is sort of the new winamp. as a long-time winamp user, i'd still use it but i appreciate foobar's lightness as well.

I use winamp 5.666 till today.

It can be very light too, if you remove all the useless crap.
I removed everything besides playlists and drives.

I was trying to stream some shit from foobar but I thought shoutcast plugin for winamp looked easier to set up. Then I decided to fuck all of them and went OBS.

You can get "unofficial" builds [github.com] here.
Mostly minor bugfixes and updated dependencies.
It's a bit sad that the lead developer went away without giving the repository access to anyone.

Anyway, MPC-HC for video here and foobar for audio (but really, any player handling a music library should be good enough, the extras are the cherry on the cake but hardly necessary for most users).
For video any player supporting madVR is leaps and bounds better than the alternatives if your video card is good enough to support all the good stuff (NGU upscale is fucking amazing).

I was a long time MPC-HC/madVR supporter but have converted over to mpv mostly for efficiency. Waifu2x real time upscaling ftw, I am just missing the quad sli volta gpus needed to run it.
