Anyone here dealt with a noisy air conditioner before? I left my aircon with my friend thinking he would be using it. But he left it to collect dust for 5 weeks straight and now it's noisy as fuck and I'm kinda scared it's gonna explode any time.

Update on this baby. After 2 hours struggling, I finally took the case off. Then I saw shit tons of rusted screws inside. Too rusted to even move them. Tried some thorough cleaning on wherever I could reach. The problem still persists. (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif)

Tbh I would rather buy a new one. This one I salvaged from the kitchen when people left and threw away what they didn't need anymore. Judging from the degree of rusting, I would say it's at least 6 years old

Could you show a pic of the inside? Somehow i doubt it from a pic, but maybe i see something that could case the noise.

Me too, until I opened it. I guess some people don't really care about maintenance as long as their stuff work, then throw them away the moment they go haywire

Iron does oxidate. That is just a natural law. And afaik until now no one was able to brake that law forever, but there is allways someone who tried. (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/ph34r.gif)

I wish my usb connectors stop getting rust. I don't know why they're rusting even when they're gold plated and I clean every week + full pc clean every month.

Normally, less humidity and, in case of living near the sea, salt air than outside, duh (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

PS: I think steel is more used
