Oh, this is very unfortunate. He wasn't a very chatty guy but I felt he was someone who tried to contribute to the community.

He could have ranted in a corner and no one would have taken heed, but alas, poor judgement meant he had to prod the cows and bears only to be mauled and trampled.

That's not really something to be perma-banned over, imo. He didn't seem like a hostile person and tagging can be confusing. Maybe he deserved a temporary ban from the forum and not allowed to do gallery stuff anymore but to be kicked out for good was a bit much over something like that.

which is why mods usually tend to monitor users' activity for a while, before doing anything. then, they eventually send a pm basically saying "you're doing something wrong, namely..." and in case of reiterations or negative balance (ie: the efforts made to fix what the guy does wrong outweigh his good) they start to discuss about banning him.

yep. actually he was only banned from tag system at first.
among the reasons for his ticket to the moon there were toplist farming, excessive ranting ("they banned me! i don't know why they banned me!" after having been warned for like a month) and harrassing mods that warned him to have his ban revoked. he showed off his results and started to whine here too, btw.

this should tell you the condition for both of the rates to grow with the same pace. too sleepy to go on with the reasoning, but next steps may be to combine it with either the forge cost matrix or the forge upgrade formula, i guess.

The actual scaled HP value and level used for scaling are presented at the start of every fight. The species of the monster (from scan database) would be useful to collect too.

With that, you can figure out several bits of info.

"Lowest HP encountered at player level N"
"Highest HP encountered at player level N" (including/excluding SGs/etc.)
"Average HP encoutnered at player level N"

And, with a bit of ambition and a big enough data sample, you could work out some even smaller granulated data interpretations.

"Tanks (Giants, Dragons, Undead, Arthropods)" Lowest/highest/average HP
"Squishies (Celestials, Sprites, Avions, Elementals?)" Same
"Mid-range (everything else)" Same

Collecting the monster ID# from the scanning info and attaching it to the HP+Level+Species data sample could really help in figuring out the actual equation. You could isolate a particular monster (Shadowcat#3483984498) and see what his HP is at various player levels, plot that out, and see what kind of equation governs the HP scaling. Then test against other specific monster ID#'s.

Species would be handy for setting min (starting) Endurence, then seeing how an individual monster varies from the "normal" curve and hypothesize how much endurence/chaos upgrades went to making it have more HP.

Overall, that would help give a pretty solid picture of what the HP landscape looks like for a given player as they level up. Which makes a damage value actually meaningful.

what is actually suggested is:
1. understand what you're tagging and whatnot
2. read tag definitions
3. when in doubt, not to tag
4. eventually, discuss about tags in vig section
5. not using the tag system to farm toplist ranks.

basically, only contribute the little you feel, when you're sure of and aiming to improve the community a bit.

Personally, I couldn't tag a pair of shoes at a garage sale.

So I'm going to stick with #3.

Tagging eh? Well, that tells me everything i need to know. Threats about severe consequences if you dont reach the 100/100 or be a member of the Brotherhood works great. If i would think that my opinion would matter, i would suggest to forbid tagging for everyone who isnt part of the brotherhood. Well case closed i guess. No one is expected to be perfect, and tagging pretty effectively is easy as long as you (1) know enough English to read the wiki (2) don't rush (3) leave things alone (or post in the discussion thread) when uncertain. I think those are all pretty easy to accomplish. Everyone will make mistakes here and there, but anyone interested in improving their tagging skill can identify their mistakes and use them to do better next time.

Unlike HV, tagging is not a game. Unquestionably, properly tagged and labeled galleries are the core of the site. People generally get warned when they clearly aren't making a reasonable effort to tag well, such as if they're not reading the definitions before tagging. Poor tagging creates messes that the (few) vigilante workers will eventually have to clean up. Thus, consistent poor tagging eventually has consequences. (if it didn't, the site would be shooting itself in the foot, right?)

Often times when a bad tag gets added, it takes the attention of at least one vetoer to remove it. (the vast majority of users generally only upvote tags, or so I've heard.) It might take a careless tagger only a few seconds to add a handful of bad tags, but it could take a conscientious downvoter a couple of minutes to carefully go through the gallery and tally up fetish image counts and verify that the tags in question are invalid. Cleanup is a huge workload, and there are very few active fixers who volunteer their time to counterbalance the work generated by the hundreds of galleries (and thousands of tags) that appear every day - so you can see how people who create messes directly inconvenience the few on E-H's tag cleanup crew, and why it might be in the site's interest to take action when that sort of thing happens.

That's quite a far cry from tagging VIP being elitish snobs just for the sake of it.

Sorry in advance, but I really want to get my point across. The workload is already incredibly high. Cleanup like in the post below is what some people here spend hours every day working on. (especially Miles Edgeworth (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)) E-H would be in deep trouble without its volunteers, so I think they should not be maligned.

what *may* help you (even if i don't know how much exactly) is Assimilator training. caution though, because it costs 65M. people suggest to train it to lv 10 (which is worth ~4.5M already, btw)

Oh, this is very unfortunate. He wasn't a very chatty guy but I felt he was someone who tried to contribute to the community.

He could have ranted in a corner and no one would have taken heed, but alas, poor judgement meant he had to prod the cows and bears only to be mauled and trampled.

That's not really something to be perma-banned over, imo. He didn't seem like a hostile person and tagging can be confusing. Maybe he deserved a temporary ban from the forum and not allowed to do gallery stuff anymore but to be kicked out for good was a bit much over something like that.

You can change your title to anything (within reason), it doesn't have any meaning as far as the system is concerned.
