QUOTE(reality_marble @ Dec 16 2017, 13:20) if you reduce the value of the staff_prof then you raise the importance of the equipment MDB, no?
seems legit. and vice versa, of course. it's a function of may variables, so i wouldn't be surprised if you were able to reach the same result (ie: amount of spell damage) for different values of the variables (ie: 100 EDB/150 MDB vs. 120 EDB/100 MDB, for example. more complicated as you raise the amount of variables)

railgun? Freyr and Mjolnir phases are very expensive, when they have good stats. Niflheim a bit less. Surtr is much cheaper. But didn't you know that already?

Yeah, I think wind is slightly more desirable because its proc is more useful than elec's. QUOTE(DJNoni @ Dec 16 2017, 14:43) railgun? Toaru reference (though intentionally hard-to-read posts don't help matters...) On a similar note, I've been wondering... price aside, if a player is going to use Imperil, should they always pick Elec or Wind (over Cold) if they have the choice, due to Willow's depreciating prof?

nah ah my mans ┐(︶▽︶)┌ was of saying that thunder-hammer and brother-of-freyja pieces are expendings, but windy seems to be way more $$$$$ from what I see, therefore, I asked QUOTE(Superlatanium @ Dec 16 2017, 12:52) Yeah, I think wind is slightly more desirable because its proc is more useful than elec's.

My experiments: - cold works excellent as imperil mage. PFfests in 1hr. But I do notice some differences with my LDWD staff. The willow makes imperil a little bit easier. But if you have high damage with perks and some radiant, cold can manage with one or two not-imperiled Monsters. - dark imperil works too, my current build lacks some defence forging but PFfests in just under 1hr is possible. But I have only 3 phase - I assume that Wind would shave off a couple of minutes on pffest. Because of 4 phase and willow

aye. QUOTE(Superlatanium @ Dec 16 2017, 15:52) On a similar note, I've been wondering... price aside, if a player is going to use Imperil, should they always pick Elec or Wind (over Cold) if they have the choice, due to Willow's depreciating prof?
and i wonder: would a fire/cold mage with a high-tier fiery/arctic willow of destruction still perform similarly to a wind/elec mage with matching willow? No, the EDB difference should prevent an artic/fiery willow to perform as good as a lower quality but correctly matched elec/wind staff. And with the prof rework I think there is currently 0 reason not to go with willow.

QUOTE(Scremaz @ Dec 16 2017, 16:59) so, cold and fire mage will find even less space in this meta? or am i reading it wrong? I'd been thinking it was like that for the past few years, not just since the recent patch. That's not to say that there's no conceivable reason to choose fire or cold, but if funds are not a factor then both elec and wind may well perform better if you're going to use Imperil. If someone wants to not use Imperil, they should really choose holy or dark, but if they go elemental anyway, then I'd think all elements are in the same ballpark with Redwood.

3 reasons: Price. Money. Budget. Because don't forget - Redwood still does the job. And mayby a 4th: Cool mage is just a bit more, well, cool (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/cool2.gif)

Yes, fire and cold mages are worse than elec/wind, mainly due to being stuck to redwood staves. Adding oak of destruction or surtr/niflhelm would be nice, but i dont see it happening anytime soon. Also, cold mages have a quite good proc which is at least something but fire one sucks bad. This post has been edited by Piscolabis: Dec 16 2017, 20:54
