This is a server-side thing, not a client-side thing. Without some sort of administrative control over the forums, an ordinary user can't do anything about it; an edited post will necessarily display the edited tag unless said user is a moderator and chooses to hide it.

yes, i did. i don't like to double post, and since i can avoid it, i do it. i merge double posts of other people, delete them when they request it and even resize images to prevent horizontal scrolling, if it's for that. plus dealing with whole threads at tims.

but last time i checked, keeping this section clean was still a problem of mine.
