If normal and alt are both slow, it's likely regional routing issues. Very little we can do with those.

In my case, with friGate-proxy, site is loading a little bit slower. Tried different proxy - site does not working at all (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/heh.gif)
Well, these slowdowns are not that critical and, fairly, I can live with them.
Hope all problems would be solved soon, anyway.

There isn't so much chatting going on in there though... it's like many people like to use it as low-effort Facebook. (eg weather thread: go in there and post "sunny" every single day. why....)
