Okay, today was a bit of a changeup. I did Item World on my auction item and that's what finally got me some mag drops... hgc and some bullshit leather, but still.

RE gave me a leg drop, too.

Haven't seen such in ages, much less a three-fer.

Everyone who is facing similar issue please raise issue in Timeouts and slow website .

So my monster scored TWO more victories while I was gone. I missed at least two gifts because of that. I coulda missed a phazon........

How does one auto-refresh their monster while they're away so they can catch their gifts from battles? Would 10b consider that to be a bannable script?

Wait, how do you "miss" gifts? Wiki says that monsters can hold up to 3 gifts, so if a monster wins 3 battles between monster lab visits, it should still grant 3 gifts, yes?

Also, in one of the HV update threads, I recall sssss2 mentioning that one of his monsters brought him 10+ gifts in one go, so maybe the wiki info is inaccurate? I don't honestly know much about that, because all my monsters are still below level 200, so they're not winning very often (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

I personally saw how my monster got six gifts.

I don't now how that system works too, but my idea is...
1. Monster may hold up 3 "packs" of gifts.
2. Monster get 1 "pack" every 3 day or get it right after win.
3. Each pack may contain up to 3 gifts, according to Gift Factor.
4. So, you may receive up to 9 gifts from one monster if he store "3 packs" and each contains 3 actual gifts.

With that setup - getting almost 10 gifts from one monster is possible, yet very rare case.
Once again - my assumption. =)

Auto-task without player's interfere - yes, it is bannable.

If, however, one make a script that adds button and after clicking said button, scripts would get gift from monsters - then that script may be accepted.

The keypoint is - any script that would do any automatic routine without player's control/commands is prohibited. However, if script will make one automatic action per one player's command - that would be acceptably. If your script provides lots of automatic requests with one player's input - than it would be illegal. if admin himself haven't greenlight it.
Any CSS/HTML changes, btw, are completely legal too - because they are part of presentation, not the game (actions) itself.

As for my HVtoolBox script, if one wondering, I have asked Tenboro about can I include that feature and this, and he gave me some guidelines, so that HVtoolBox is valid and legal according to admin's specs (especially ajax-part). Server may, however, temporary ban (up to 1-3 minutes) if you will try to send too many requests per time-unit with that script (stock limit in use), but you can change few things in settings and avoid any temp ban. With default settings - I have bazaared 400 things at once and haven't got temp ban.

Same for Monsterbation script - every its feature were greenlighted by admin himself and that script does not violate any rules.

Actually the monsters don't hold 3 gifts, they hold 3 item giveaways, which happens to be 3 gifts if each giveaway drops only one item. So with a bit of luck you may very well reach a total of 6 gifts at once (I once reached 5), or even more if your monster is very high PL and goes above the 200% gift factor.

BTW, I noticed that monsters in the yellow/red are often holding gifts that they won't be giving before they are taken back to the green. Or maybe is it a freebie as a "thanks for taking care of me"?

And don't even think about automating the monster lab refreshing.

No, we are not talking about ~refresh the monster page every day or so~, but talking about the script that would automatically, behind the scene, send request to the MonsterLab page every, say, 6 hours and get the gifts without any iteration with player.

Leaving your tab with auto-refresh on MonsterLab has nothing bad in it, because player himself have opened that tab and browser reloads the page according to his setup.

As for will Tenboro ban users or not is totally different question, we just talked about legitimate of such script. =)

As I thought with my 'pack' theory above, but I assumed that max multiplier is 3, not 2.6 =)

It's still a page refresh no matter how you try to spice things up.

And no rules have ever been discussed about non-battle scripts, you can just see the ehwiki page and check the rules.
They all speak about gameplay, live data, attack, enemies.
Otherwise every HV toolbox users should be banned because sending X mooglemails surely doesn't seem like a single action to me (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/heh.gif)

Tenboro told me what was possible to do in order not violate any rules. I have changed few ajax-thing between version 0.9.9 and 1.0.0 for this.
So, he greenlight (in some way of) HVtoolBox with few small restrictions.

I am not arguing with you, don't think that way (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/heh.gif) but just want to give an example of prohibited non-battle script. Conditioner this - script will automatically check bazaar pages every minute and will inform you when specific equipment in on sale (say cloth-stuff with price less than 17500 so you can salvage it for HGC lately). Script will not buy it on its own, but will inform you - that will make it illegal because it gives unfair advantages compare to other players.
And even if that script for whatever reason would be legal - then consider that this script will actually buy things on it own.
