First time I can't answer riddle.

applejack, going by hair and tail. those signs on his hips should be say something as well, but don't remember how they are called. either way, 15 seconds should be enough to scout all the needed infos.

i remember all of you that - albeit mono-coloured - Riddlemasters come in with a handy pony chart:

Once again - I don't clearly see Applejack on that picture, I may only think it is he, because no other variants are matching (no horn, no wings, etc).

Maybe it is my bad eyes, maybe because I never watched any episode of MLP, but for me that riddle is complicated. No offense here to Tenboro or anything, but if were faced that riddle by myself, it would have took a time to figure out who it is. Fortunately, for all this time I face only 2-3 really hard puzzles - the most of them are easy to solve. =)

For me, applejack = wearing hat. So no hat = I can't answer.

~Actually~ is a keyword here. I see that curly thing, but for me it is one of this Rorschach's spots - just a distract from main picture and not related to them.

lol. i don't know exactly how this algorithm works (as i said a few times, there are things that admin isn't exactly chatty about. and even if i knew, i couldn't speak about many of them), but i guess that thing is a compromise between human eyes' readability and bot unreadability.
prior this last patch we were shifted a bit more towards humans, but i guess admin learned a few things from the latest scripts he banned. therefore, a turn of the screw.

i remember you that riddlemaster is a safety measure itself: it awards humans, it penalizes bots. the compromise being (as i mentioned above) the readability of the riddle. if you want to blame someone, blame bot coders and users. if you want names, well... you'll have to be quite convincing (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

I wouldn't be surprised if botters exist but have anyone ever broken the old riddlemaster?
Because otherwise, the new riddlemaster seems unnecessary and only make HV more difficult for us.

i don't know the exact details, but i don't think tenboro would do such a radical change without a proper reason. afterall i doubt he enjoys enforcing policies and coding more complex algorithms if not needed and when he could, saying, take a nap or surf porn in that very same time...

Yes it was.

I even saw three months ago a detail parser algorithm on habrahabr.ru (this is a Russian soft/code/tech site/social-web). That algorithm had somewhere of 70% of success rate and if Tenboro gave more than 20 seconds to answer, than it may had even 95% - it fails, mostly, because it had not enough time to finish parsing and just answer randomly.

The very old riddlemaster (labyrinth/maze-one) was broken pretty fast like in 3-5 days and again on habrahabr.ru one can find full code and explanation.

So, yes, making riddlemaster harder was necessary step to chill the bots off.

But, well, it is just an one example of that parser made by Russians. I will be not surprised if some Chinese or Indonesian players have created their own parser/solver with different algorithms and even high success rate. =)
