Speaking of the custom fonts, which is the recommended one at the moment? I have been using Verdana with font-size 8 for forever

Same here - Verdana / font-size: 8 / vertical-adjust: -2 . Works perfectly.

I think it was the recommended one years ago, maybe some script even required a custom font

Most scripts that parse text data (equipment stats, names of items, so on) require custom font, because innate JavaScript's (DOM-wise) methods/properties, like innerHTML / textContent / NodeValue are requiring text to work with, not css-based graphics.

but I noticed that it cuts off some supportive spells in the Skillbook Spells section when I was grinding some proficiencies and unlocked new spells.

Custom font cuts it? Can you post screenshot? Maybe it has something with height/weight of your monitor?

By the way, why exactly game uses default/custom font at first place? Can game just serve all inner text via plain CSS with few styling properties? Why game can't provide, say, "Arial" as default text and basta? I am not arguing, just curious why game uses such quirk font-system? =)

a bit more actually. this past month a purge took place. it may be not so visible because it has been discussed outside of here and not all users had a wts/wtb (and even less in first page), but it took me a bit of time to cross-check the list with wts/wtb section. afaik another list will follow briefly, but they should be older bans that i will update just to avoid useless bumps

I've been using verdana 8 + bold with a vertical adjust of -3 since forever. Works just fine for me (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

verdana 8, normal, normal, no vertical adjustment. if you don't mind a visual glitch in the welcoming screen it's fine.

So i am the only unlucky bastard with such a kink? I have now tried different font-size and vertical adjustments, and it still looks like shit. TBH i cant eat so much how i want to vomit because of that. I guess i will try a few other fonts and just give up if that doenst work. (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) (S)

edit: So it looks like Ariel seems to work for me. No kink, no wandering diggits, no headache. I just hope it stays that way.

Well like i edited in the post above, ariel works at least now. But i wonder why i cant see the font name in my settings. It change the font, but where in your screenshot is written Verdana, is just blank for me, no matter what font i use. Well as long it work, i dont care too much about it.

edit: Of course, now that changed font-weight Ariel just appeared like a cheap chicanery. -.-

Looks like this.
Just a few ideas:
1) If you have another browser on your PC, try to launch HentaiVerse in that browser and check is that problem appeared in different browser too. If so, then probably something wrong with height/weight/resolution/dpi of your device.
2) try to change size of text in browser (ctrl + wheel) - maybe that problem happens only on specific zoom? Then try change default font settings in your browser
3) Do you have scripts or stylesheets that may affect that page? Try to turn them off
4) Try different custom font with different properties (size, weigth, adjust, etc)

These extra margins on the right - are they selectably? Can you select them with mouse?
What is your browser and OS?

My guess - either problem with Verdana font itself on your device, or with browser-rendering issues.

even zoom shouldn't affect it too much. could it be your browser is doing something odd? try changing font, but still a standard MS one. like arial, calibri, tahoma...

oh, i was ninja-ed multiple times. don't mind it...

It is exactly how it should be - you have to manually type in what font you should use.

I believe, for security reasons, browser can not parse and detect what fonts (or any other files) you have on your PC/device. In other way, it would be a major security hole (think about any site can steal data from your device/PC without letting you ever know!). Browser has access only to its cache, settings, localStorage, library, etc. - not user's or OS's files.

not browser, JS technology afaik. however, even without typing anything sort of a default font should be used. i don't know neither which one it is nor if the default one in your system matters though.

Seems like the issue is linked to Boulay's HV Dark theme (and only with custom font, doesn't happen with the default font), it doesn't happen when I disable it.

I was using a dark theme made by ctxl for years until 0.85 hit and it stopped working. I'm happy that Boulay has made dark themes available, but to be honest the one by ctxl was just what I needed in it's simplicity, too bad it stopped working. Maybe I should just give up and let the default theme burn my eyes (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif)

Can you post ctxl's theme here? Maybe I can fix it in some way? =)

It's quite obvious. See what Scremaz wrote. Still, it was impressive what he/she managed to achieve while botting: GS + lv500 and started in mid September last year. That was one effective bot!

But there were more odd disappearances, so it makes sense that a purge took place. Luckily, us CracklingCasters were spared.
