Oh that Hath price.
Once I wanted to cut down all the H@H slots but then I decided to add back some for a yearly top 10. If Hath prices continue to drop like that I guess I would be better off quitting from it.

I don't understand what happened so quickly to cause the bottom to fall out. It's nearly fallen by half in less than a year. I have noticed the extremely heavy hitters like yourself have eased up on the list. I was wondering if it is the HatH price that caused it.

It does seem kinda weird. Then again, I don't know jack shit about economics, so it might make sense to some. When I first started playing HV about 4 months ago, hath was priced at about 4700 and only fluctuated a little (4600-4800) over the first three months. Then the 0.85 patch hit and suddenly hath value dropped by a full quarter over the course of a single month. So I'm guessing it's a result of: a: people hoarding hath before the patch, expecting new perks, then dumping hath en masse after the patch, causing the price to drop. b: sharp increase in people running H@H & adopting servers recently and trying to sell off their hath, coupled with no increase in people buying hath, resulting in overabundance of hath and causing the price to drop. Probably a mixture of the two. Short-term, this means cheaper perks for the regular players and a strong hit on the income of hath barons. Long-term, low hath prices can't be good for the site, because if hath becomes too cheap, it will likely discourage new people from renting server slots and running H@H, because the benefits no longer outweigh the cost. Like I said, I'm no economics expert, so I have no clue what the ultimate result will be (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif)

volunteers Anyway, as for the hath perk situation, I recently got Crystarium V and somewhere in Tenb's laboratory that triggered an alarm. He'll be launching new hath perks soon simply because I can't afford any now. I love all those crystals dropping in battle, though. It's a drop in the bucket compared to what I actually need but I like it.

30 levels later, I finally came out of the IW of my rapier. At the end some manbearpigs were living inside it. It started with Fatality Lv.3 then Swift Strike Lv.1, finished Fatality Lv.5, and got Butcher Lv.3 at the end. I don't mind the Swift Strike since I like to dual wield and focus on survival. I need to avoid leveling and grind my one-handed and heavy armor proficiencies from zero for a couple weeks before I see what the rapier can do. Is it possible to reforge or salvage a completed Ethereal weapon when it gets an elemental strike you don't like? Do some people do that, or is the investment too great?

Getting closer to IW perfection is way too expensive for anyone without lots of funds (or time) to throw away.

So I guess Tenb won't care about the H@H runners and slot renters quit. This post has been edited by morineko: Aug 5 2017, 09:17

Don't bother reforging it, it's fine as it is.

uh, so your place in toplist is simply due to the fact that others raised their slots more than you. regardless, you really gave a big service to the community during these years (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) QUOTE(RoadShoe @ Aug 5 2017, 04:15) I don't understand what happened so quickly to cause the bottom to fall out. Probably a mixture of the two.
basically, demand and offer: the number of distributed H@Hers raised without a possible way for the big pool of players to spend them. thus, amount of hath inflated and price crushed. or again, the offer of hath is way bigger than the demand. therefore, the market tried to find a new equilibrium for price per hath unit - and actually found it, at a way lower price than what we knew a year or two ago. afaik tenboro thinks that market works better when it's left to itself, so i doubt he'll modify it heavily in the near future. but it's possible that some perks will be added in the next patches, who knows?

I have murder tendencies directed towards all those people who always come at the very end to start bidding and being a plain pain. They'd deserve the end of auctions to be extended for way longer just because of that, like several hours.

personally i lost too many auctions back then to care about what happens the other days. now i merely look at the items when auction starts, depending on my mood i may place a start bid or not as a memo for myself, then i'll return to check towards the end. sometimes i can still bid, other times not. if it goes on this way, i guess i should pay someone to check items for me (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) This post has been edited by Scremaz: Aug 5 2017, 16:41

They force me to do the same than you, and that is what bothers me. Oh, and I'm finding a few bids very amusing: [One02] Legendary Ethereal Rapier of the Nimble (385, IW 10, ADB 50%, Parry 96%) (seller: kanaya00) shittingass 2.2m #172 Extend to 14:45 [Shd01] Legendary Ruby Force Shield of Protection (417, Str End Agi, BLK 88%) (seller: Hakrei) 스믈리에 2.328m #167 Extend to 14:37
