QUOTE(Scremaz @ Mar 15 2017, 05:40) not even at 50, if it's for that. food needs are already automatized (and the cost of a chow isn't enough to convince me installing another script (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) ) and it's not like there are more than a yellow bar per day on average. some days with 5, many days without anything to worry about... No gifts are lost until red, right? I've always assumed yellow doesn't affect gifts at all? Edit: The built in automation is good until cuisines start getting high. I've got 20 of those little tykes over PL1100. That's a lot of gourmet meals. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) This post has been edited by RoadShoe: Mar 15 2017, 14:56

Green 6,000 - 12,000 +25% chance Yellow 3,000 - 5,999 Normal chance Red 1 - 2,999 -50% chance Empty 0 0% chance (any held gifts are lost and no new ones can be earned)
The chance to receive a gift is based on how many battles a monster has won since they last delivered a gift, modified by their morale (updated dynamically; a monster that goes from yellow morale to green may bring a gift immediately; visiting the monster list is necessary). A monster can give gifts up to once per hour. Monsters will automatically earn gifts if they have not earned one in the past 72 hours.
Usually when i feed high amount of pills (like 30) then they also give something in return. Not sure about money wise, but im not waiting till red bar.

Up to now i was actually feeding them pills right before they hit yellow so around the 5900-5950. Was pondering for quite some time if it was the case to actually wait for them to hit yellow before doing so. I think the time has come.

Same here, not that I have enough monsters to matter (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/faint.gif)

You can feed them at any time as long as it's higher than 0 morale you don't lose out on any gifts.

of course. but yep, i noted as well that when the mob goes from yellow to green bar there's a certain chance to bring out a gift - low, but there is. this, together with the amount of morale restored are good enough reasons for me to wait for the yellow bar before feeding. food, definitely when it's still in the green bar.

Im not sure about that trigger. Does that mean win in battle can be without gift? So few monsters won in yellow bar and roll said "no, not this time", but after feeding monster got bonus chance and as result gave gift?

according to my experience, yes. only things granted are the 3-days gifts. for all the others, there are only fair chances. QUOTE(nec1986 @ Mar 15 2017, 21:08) but after feeding monster got bonus chance and as result gave gift?
as i said, there's a chance for this to happen. but since you still have to feed a pill and only unknown is *when* to do it, it's worth the gamble. [edit]: now that i think about it, there *may* be a difference between feeding at 6000 remaining and 5999 remaining morale. only my guess though. The monster gift periods are deterministic, the only randomness involved is what items you get. And there is a difference between green and yellow morale, but it's much less significant than yellow to red.

If you pop a happy pill on a monster that brings it from red/yellow to green and get a gift, you would have gotten it anyway if it was green to begin with. The only difference is that if you kept it at green, you might have gotten it (and started the timer for the next one) sooner.

IIRC it was said that the number of gifts is a float and gets rounded when you check the lab, right? Can you lose gifts due to rounding if you check the lab too often? Is it safe to check several times or better just once per day?

which is like saying that yellow bar somehow freezes timer and morale should always be green as well, right?

Since there is still a chance of getting gifts at yellow, until shown otherwise I would think the timer is slowed in some way, but not stopped. (but yes, you would prefer to keep bar green as much as possible) This post has been edited by Superlatanium: Mar 16 2017, 00:03

Thanks guys (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) Think I'll just let it go yellow since I'm not really active these days to care about getting gifts on time. I've come to that point in HV where I just log in to check on my monsters (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/anime_cry.gif) Might need to actually buy happy pills like Chraunzen D:

When calculating the number of gifts, it applies a fairly large random +/- offset to the timer to prevent any significant rounding effects.
