The cap is calculated from the actual number of tickets sold, so disregarding end of ticket sale snipers, you can always tell from the readouts exactly how much using a GLT will affect your win chance.

I think people generally value peerless too much. High-tier Legendary will usually be close enough for you to not be able to tell the difference, in addition to being much cheaper. (in addition to the fact that playing the lottery in the first place is generally a pretty inefficient idea, cost-wise.)

I think the lottery used to be a decent option in many cases back before 0.82 because high-tier equipments with important stats close to Lmax were pretty scarce, so if you didn't play the lottery when your desired equip type came up, it could be ages before you found something of comparable quality available to buy or bid on. But now, high-tier equips of every type are relatively common, so even though the lottery is now Peerless only, those who participate in it pretty much never have to in order to feel that they have a very solid set.

In other words, lottery players are competing with catgirls and hath barons for a prize that's more for prestige/equipment OCD than for something that's cost-efficient.

I agree on the stat differences. There's really not a lot, but it ends up quite a bit if heavy forging.

Finding an LHOH.. period... in an auction does happen, but it's rare, and usually have the End of All Hope stats.
And yes... at least the LHOH was dropped for him, and yes... I feel 3m for it was my gain with its majestic "M" stats.

If.. a "good" LHOH is auctioned, which is not going to happen... but if it does...
It goes up to 30m in first 15 minutes, and then sniped in the last 15 minutes.

The chances of winning a high quality LHOH in an Auction has nearly the same probability as winning a PHOH in a Lottery. The Lottery still more difficult of course due to the rarity of a PHOH showing up.

Burning money in lotteries and competing against other players in traditional auctions with all mistakes and inconveniences they have are few actually fun parts of this credit-sink "game". i completely support the idea of little spreads in percentiles not worth sinking millions (even less engaging in bidwars against barons and dukes) and peerlesses being sort of status symbols.

Sometimes it might be quite big. 0 to 100% with forge for high level mage willow staff:
1. Int+wis difference 125 magic score points.
2. Mdb 1400 magic score points.
3. Edb 600 points.
4. Prof ~250 points.

So basically even single staff difference can be ~2,4k magic score. Even if we aim it 80%+ then whole set which contains 6 pieces gives also solid difference. But yea, money-wise even good legendary gives pretty result. Thats relatively same clearspeed.

They drop as Cursed. To become Blessed you need the Blessing of Snowflake and Soul Fragments, and Ritual Items (expensive from item shop only as credit sink).the Blessing of Snowflake is a drop almost as rare as a Curse piece itself. Cursed will have great stats, but with great stats comes great random debunks or other detrimental things.

Once Blessed and Awakened they can have fun bonus stats such as auto-cast protection or other quality of life stats. These of course won't be known until the equipment becomes Awakened.

Awakening requires an exorbitant amount of Soul Shards due to the gluttony of the item, as well as more Ritual Items, an amount of Awakening Item Worlds (one clear per day at a set difficulty that will be challenging), and of course, another Blessing of Snowflake.

Of course it will be worth it for a small increase in stats.

Not all of them did, but that lottery effectively had 1529794 tickets.
It's not all that complex. If you have less than 10% of the total tickets in the lottery, it will increase your effective number of tickets, capped to as if you bought 10% of the total tickets outright.

If a lottery has 400k or more tickets sold, adding a GLT will always double your win chance, since you cannot buy more than 20k of the total tickets.

If a lottery has between 200k and 400k tickets, and you buy 20k tickets with a GLT, it will also increase your win chance, but not higher than 1/10th of the actual number of tickets. So if 300k tickets were sold, it will be as if you bought 30k tickets - which, of course, you cannot do without a GLT.

If a lottery has 200k tickets and below, and you buy 10% or more of the total tickets sold, adding a GLT will have no effect.

Of course, if everyone adds a GLT and no one gets capped, the effective outcome will be the same as if no one did.

As for the 100 free tickets it gives you, the only real reason it adds any at all is to avoid dealing with the edge case where you add a GLT but don't buy any tickets.
