I don't think I'd even know how to be a mage. I'd also have to get a lot of elemental spells. QUOTE(hitokiri84 @ Oct 29 2010, 10:17) Before, it would have been very worth your time to switch. I was getting 335 trophies daily. Now, they aren't even worth playing to get the initial clear bonus, so I wouldn't bother. (10% drop rate my ass.)
Holy crap, that's a lot of trophies. I would've been content with just having the initial clear bonus. After that, I probably would've been done with it because the higher challenges are so long and boring. For me, it's all about getting EXP because I need so much of it. Fucking AL training prices. But with the new changes, I don't really have any complaints aside from the equipment pricing. As long as there's no lag and my dawn event credits aren't fucked with, I'm good to go. And I like how we don't have to pay to enter arena challenges.

Adding melee skills that deal physical damage equally scaled to magic damage from spells.
Wow, difficult concept. Isn't it, Borgstrom?

So, your plan is to give melee the advantage of maging without taking away its advantages. Yeah, that makes sense.

I use MP to cast spells when I play. Just because you're melee doesn't mean you don't cast spells or have to cure yourself and whatnot. I don't use elemental spells but I use deprecating spells when I need to. That eats up all kinds of MP in those high challenges or if you play the lower ones on a harder setting. That's why I can't clear End of Days, because I run out of MP and items (and that's just playing on Normal).
I think mages have a much bigger advantage.

for a start you should get a staff (mjolnir or elemtalist) and clothes (either evade, battlecaster or elementalist), and the 2-3 tiers of electric elemental, with that you'll be clearing any round without bosses (remember to cast on monsters with procced coalesced mana or hit with staff to get ether theft or/and channeling after that), which for them you'd need their elemental weakness or soul spells... (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) (well i'm still not sure how to beat bosses effectively but well somebody else can fill that xp) This post has been edited by AglowGolem: Oct 29 2010, 20:41

Up until level 200, melee characters are equal in power to magic users. It is only in the legendary slogs that magic becomes better, and I don't know why anyone would do those anymore.

QUOTE(Conquest101 @ Oct 28 2010, 19:48) Monsters have reduced defenses so far as I can tell, which is great for mages. However, they also seem to do MORE damage. This is more noticeable with Legendaries or on higher difficulties. If this is the case, did melees just get screwed even more?
Some other people will need to confirm though. I can only go by my limited experience thus far.
Yes, I've noticed that the monsters seem to be a bit stronger. Out of the blue, one of them hits me and my HP drops way down. I don't die but it's aggravating. It's like a mosquito bugging you.

Since running out of MP is instant death, not using MP is very valuable.

But yeah, mages have channeling and what have you on weapons, but is there any form of lifestealing on any melee weapons so there's no expenditure of any MP for a heal?

There is no question, maging is much more overpowered than melee after lvl 120, dont even try to discut it...
I just switched from melee to maging, and i am getting 4-5x the exp in half the time i used to need to clear 10 IW...

What kind of little shit thinks they know more than someone 120 levels higher than them? If the challenge is arenas, and that is the only reasonable challenge to compare, both melee and mage characters can clear arenas without items through 200 and the Trio and the Tree.
