Last time I played an eroge was with my old pc.
I remember I had to change the non-ascii language to Japanese to make the .exe work, and a lot of programs turned completely japanese or get things like the yen symbol instead of the slashes and apostrophes, annoying thing (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

That's why you normally use AppLocale or its alternatives to run non-unicode application in japanese (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/heh.gif)

I don't even recall what the name of the game was, but thinking about it now, it's boring.
At the time I tried to play straight and without looking anywhere for help, and I got to so many bad ends (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)
Then I realized that I chose the harder character with 1 good end and 2000 bad endings (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/heh.gif)
Discovering the magic "childhood friend root" and the "tsundere root"...basically if you play an eroge and pick one of these (or maybe both, tsundere childhood friends are not rare (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) ) you'll get to the good end without struggle (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/heh.gif)

Bwahaha. That sir is why I always look at walkthroughs, screw spenidng 20 hours on getting a bad end (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif). If you ever feel like playing one again i highly suggest Devil on G-String, damn that was a good game.

Same... it breaks a few things, and is annoying to switch between.

Next time I have to use a method like that I should remember to use a virtual OS rather than my main OS. Less hassle that way, probably.

Well, I looked up and I didn't get the translation softwares (not all games are translated in english) to work without using the program in the actual OS (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/heh.gif)

Next time I have to use a method like that I should remember to use a virtual OS rather than my main OS. Less hassle that way, probably.

it's not a bad idea, but remember to check game's requisites. depending on the virtualization platform it may or many not be possible to use it.

for example, Oracle VirtualBox (one of the best around) emulates your physical processor, but only a crappy GPU afaik. but tbh i never tried to install GPU drivers (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

it remembers me of Akuji the Demon. it required a few years for an English patch to pop out. when it happened, i was suddenly able to finish the game (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

Last time I had to change locale I think I used [github.com] this.
I remember that it was working better than HF pAppLoc (and the UI is also better).

indeed. it must be the script. and with rewrites it's even worse - especially since it can happen you read the original version.

as far as any of you know, is there some amateur pony out of this section who is exceptionally good at drawing and could work for HV credits/hath? not necessarily 3D. i'd like to know if a certain story is draw-able (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/ph34r.gif)
