What's up with this staff in Superlat's auction? It's almost got the same stats as the one that's going at 20M credits? Is its level somehow discouraging bids? Or are there gonna be monstrous ninjabids near the end?

Or are there gonna be monstrous ninjabids near the end? It's an awful staff. There is no such thing as Hybrid mage. Hallowed Willow has a very low EDB range for both holy and dark. Maybe you're confused with a Legendary Hallowed Katalox Staff of Destruction? That staff would go for quite a bit. Edit: I didn't mean to say horrible, i meant it isn't 'Top Tier'. As we all know, there's a massive difference between something that is useable and something that is the best. This post has been edited by jenga201: Oct 21 2016, 01:41

So it's not all that desirable for someone looking for a serious long-term staff.

Willow goes with demonic, not hallowed. Got it.

It's easy in the end. To know just check the EDBs that crude staves (aka unprefixed and unsuffixed) have, those are the elements they support, and the prefixes that are ok. Exception is Oak since it doesn't have destruction suffix or fire/cold suffix, so it's only for Holy. As for suffixes, you have to see, some staves have only damage or matching element suffixes, others have proficiency too (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) In the end: Redwood: All Elemental Prefixes, All Elemental Suffixes, Destruction Suffix, Elementalist Suffix Willow: Elec, Wind and Dark Prefixes, Destruction Suffix Oak: Holy Prefix, Heimdall Suffix Katalox: Holy and Dark Prefixes, Destruction, Heimdall, Fenrir, Heaven-Sent, Demon-Fiend Suffix Matching of course. Focus suffix is meh. The rest is trash or so.

Is there any significant difference between elemental and holy/dark mages? I'm, pretty bored of fire mage and maybe changing the playstyle will bring me back to the game.

holy/dark should work wonders against SGs.

Holy and dark are better for sg and you don't even need imperil for them (but for the other monsters you may need it) Elemental is way more mana conservative and in normal arenas is pretty much the same as Holy/Dark

Thanks for answers, I may consider buying second set. Btw I need a good doujins reader for pc. I'm torrenting 800 titles and I want to read them just like on sad panda with multi page viewer enabled - pages fit to my screen width, scrolling down for next pages. Is it possible in irfanview or something else will be better?

nah , imperil is faster since it will reduce SG MMI too (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/heh.gif)

Nope, like seriously nope. Not using imperil will slow you down, at least, 25% for holy and probably more for dark. And that is with a no-imperil set (1.0 prof factor). The difference with a 4+1 or 5+0 setup are even bigger.

SG don't have holy or dark mitigations, it's pointless to imperil them QUOTE(nobody_xxx @ Oct 21 2016, 16:01) nah , imperil is faster since it will reduce SG MMI too (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/heh.gif) proficiency does that (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/huh.gif) This post has been edited by ppp82p: Oct 21 2016, 16:11

Still nope. QUOTE(ppp82p @ Oct 21 2016, 16:10) proficiency does that (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/huh.gif) Nope, prof reduces specific mitigations (holy, dark, fire, wind, cold and elec), MMI is only reduced by imperil or by Breached Defense.

I have questions for somebody that understands proficiency calcs.
What would be the real benefit of having 600 Prof vs 700 Prof? Would it translate to just a couple % of counter-resist?
What would be the real benefit of having capped Prof (1000)? Would the counter-resist actually be worth the lack of magic score?
These questions apply to both Holy and Elemental separately. (Excluding counter resist from Staffs)
Including Staffs, from what i've experienced; Using Katalox or Redwood allows for use of Prof gear. Meaning 3 Phase 2 Prof is about the same damage as 5 Phase. Using Willow or Oak does not allow for use of Prof gear. Meaning using any Prof is weaker than using 5 Phase.
Does this mean that the counter-resist gained from Staffs is roughly equivalent to capped Prof?
