I was thinking, wouldn't this be better handled by a case by case basis instead of a blanket ban?

I agree, I suggested exactly that a while ago (because no one likes pages that look like toilet paper that are not allowed to be replaced by better-looking ones), but Joe didn't like it so it didn't go anywhere.

Leveling isn't hard, and an objective standard for it is quite possible on almost all pages. Same with rotating pages so they're at 90°. But even though objectivity is possible, that wasn't enough.

i don't really understand how come an un-watermarked version with the same DPI etc couldn't be called an improvement of the similar watermarked version (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/huh.gif)

Watermarked galleries are replacable, but non-watermarked galleries with quality problems can't be replaced by fixed versions (from the same scan, for the same language). Under current rules, at least.

The good news is that really bad looking unreplacable galleries aren't that common. The bad news is that mediocre-looking unreplacable galleries are common, often directly from scan to e-hentai. (which means that translations/decensors etc will frequently use the files from that gallery as a basis, resulting in a lot more work for editors in each language and more mediocre-looking pages)

From the discussion I agree that it's more of a problem with a lack of manpower rather than if its a good idea or not considering there only exists a handful of real MVPs who really does most of the heavy lifting

even if saying the system is biased would be quite easy, i still guess they continue to win only because they have a costant supply of GPs and can afford to continuously sink them.

let's do a bit of math: 20k tickets should be worth roughly 4M. the likes of me or you may sink them once in a blue moon. but we won't surely do it because "48% chance of winning still means 52% chance of not winning" [cit.]
i find hard to believe that the highest H@Hers toplisters cannot sink them every few days. and bigger pool actually means higher chance to win on the long run.

Not nearly all of the people who could buy tons of tickets for each Lottery actually do it. I think it's pretty nice of them, at least there is a slight chance for the ones buying 1-100 tickets for each lottery. Of course the odds are on the players who do buy tons of tickets for each Lottery, but the competition could potentially be much worse.

I doubt donations have any effect on Lotteries, some players just have more GP income to sink in them. Have you noticed any change in your win rate since you got your Gold Star? (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/duck.gif)
