Yesterday, I purchased rapier from bazaar and forge it up to level 5. It is very shitty, I will be honest, but even with this bad stats it still provide some nice time boost:

150 rounds Grindfest
I. My Fiery Slaughter sword:

• Run #1: 5,482 turns | 30 min 29 s
• Run #2: 5,289 turns | 28 min 38 s
• Run #3: 5,391 turns | 29 min 50 s

II. My Electric Slaughter rapier:

• Run #1: 5,046 turns | 26 min 40 s
• Run #2: 5,181 turns | 27 min 03 s
• Run #3: 5,099 turns | 26 min 37 s

Well, I am not very good in theory, but the case is clear for me - even bad rapiers are awesome =)

Anyway, should I change my Spike Shield to debuff from Electric strike? I am using Fire one right now..

Matching Spike Shield obviously, you have 1h, you shouldn't have issues bearing big loads of monsters (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Anyway, redo that IW, it's horrifying (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

Strange that the clearspeed it's so similar, ok that the rapier was WD 45 and has bad IW, but if I try to do the first arena with my shortsword I need almost double the turns to clear compared to my rapier (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

Anyway, redo that IW, it's horrifying laugh.gif

I just afraid to spend a lot amnesia on new weapon in order to get fat5 and but4 and, after that, find out that difference between rapier and current sword is miserably =(
I decided just to test this rapier today, not upgrade properly (that's why I don't use any bindings yet). My goal was to test how good this rapier compare to shortsword and should I pump it up?
It will be very funny is I spend ~30 amnesias in a sake of good IW and find out that this rapier give me only 20 sec of speedboost xD
Now I see this rapier is good to me and can boost my cleartime very much, so I can work with this in an advance =)

Yes, but if you don't want to spend too many amnesia shards, then just avoid SwiftStrike. Overpower isn't really needed for 1H players, but it's not like you have 100% Overwhelming Strike uptime, so it still offers some benefit.

Yep it's true, but you haven't to search perfect IW, as long as Butcher+Fatality = at least 7, it's still ok.
Butcher 4/5 Fatality 4/5 is for the perfect rapiers for end game (Demonic/Hallowed/Ethereal with Dark/Holy Strike Peerless or 51+ WD Leg with good rolls overall)
If I were you, I would've waited before forging it to lv 5.
Salvaging and buying back is a good way to save up on searching for amnesias each time (for example my rapier has 3,3k sell cost -> 82,5k to rebuy -> roughly 4-5 amnesia shards)

And, even if shortsword rolls are good, it's still a bad suffixed one, so I'm really curious of how it's possible (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

Tried again, 59.74 WD Shortsword vs 49.21 WD Rapier, similar IW and forge.
With the sword some monsters go down in 3-4 hits like with the rapier, some monsters instead take an entire eternity to die, while with rapier they take few hits more than the weak ones but still die fast.

It was very good and solid sword, actually, with ADB forged to 15 and STR/DEX to 18 and 19. =)

Yeap, this is my "medium" sword I used for probably 10 days only (got it month ago?) - I left this one for future IW (I can't boost my rapier with bare hand xD)
Bytheway, I had one more slaughter + fiery sword, when I was ~150 level. It was magnificent, if I remember correctly. Then I get legendary ethereal banshee - I was so hyped about my first legendary drop ever and get rid of my magnificent sword without and bad feelkings (bad decision, now I know it).
So, I have something about fiery + slaughter swords xD

It was like that:
1) Got magnificent fiery sword of slaughter
2) Got legendary ethereal sword of banshee (used #1 to IW it)
3) Got legendary fiery sword of slaughter (used #2 to IW it)
4) While IW #3 (tier 9, I guess?)* I got ANOTHER legendary fiery sword of slaughter (used #3 to IW it)
5) Bought legendary shocking rapier of slaughter (used #4 to IW it). Have found that this rapier is good thing and salvage #4 to get my bindings back for future forge, left #3 since it has not slaughter bindings and to use it to properly IW this rapier)

Bytheway, I hate restriction about "you can't IW gear you currently wear on" - this force you to have some extras in a case if you would like to reforge them in a future...
For example I have this thing:
Legendary Savage Power Leggings of Warding
I would like to get Jug5 and few Cap in a future, that's why I should have also this piece of gear:
Legendary Amber Power Leggings of Protection
And, as you know, I have this armor still not maxed out:
Legendary Savage Power Armor of Slaughter
So I have this armor in backpack
Legendary Amber Power Armor of Protection
And I have this superb weapon for IW my weapon, if anything goes wrong: xD

* - bytheway, it happened to me one more time. I had a gauntlets, which I decided to IW. Near tier 3 or 4 I got another gauntlets: Legendary Savage Power Gauntlets of Slaughter
So, I guess, I should play more IW and less arenas xD

just FYI, at least at the start almost all mages IWed their things with a melee set. after a certain while such mage sets became strong enough to substain on their own, but they had to start from somewhere.

FSM trophy is worth more than the others you get on TT&T combined, and the clear bonus is probably the same. So best to do FSM only.
