Those with large stocks want to get rid of them because it does them no good just sitting there in their inventory. They may be willing to sell for a slightly lower price for the sake of getting rid of everything at once.

Those with desires for large quantities of something somewhat scarce have an incentive to buy as much as they can, and may well be willing to pay a slightly higher price to be able to buy it all at once instead of collecting small fractions of what they need from shops here and there every few days.

It sounds contradictory at first, but the difference there is scarcity. Some stuff, like graded metal and leather mats, is extremely common, and not hard at all to find large quantities at nicely low prices. Other stuff, like HG cloth and ED, is pretty uncommon and difficult to find in as high quantities as buyers want. For those rare items, those "large stocks" almost never happen, since people buy them quickly; the buyers are more desperate than the sellers. And so we see the strange situation we have today.

well, it all doesn't affect me directly, as i don't expect to ever reach lvl 500 (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

however, if there was some interesting continuation beyond lvl 500, that might inspire me to get a move on (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

speaking of which... apart for Fire, which is used also (and mainly) by Dragonkins, all elements are pretty much the same, so elemental prefixes/mitigations can be chosen at random, am i wrong?
