speaking of which, i never understood why China or Greenland have only one. no matter how you look at it, it should have at least 3 or 4. while it can still be comprehensible for Greenland - quite unlikely polar bears would have anything against such decision - i cannot really understand it for China.
on the other hand, Australia is way smaller yet it has 3 different ones - pretty much one different one per district.

obviously, i'm not speaking with you - i don't even know where you are from. just saying.

Yeap ^^ I remember that 4-5 years ago we had 9 zones. Now we have 11 zones, it is true. I don't know which territories's time Government did change and why exactly, but with territory so big, I guess some tweaks and fixes in time should be. =)

Speaking of which, because of annexation of Crimea from Ukraine* we may have 12 zones, but in last time Government decided to count Crimea as in-Moscow-time. xD

china have one time zone is because its a decision of the government
