Without happy pills? Ermm... I am using happy pills every time I see their morale is a low (yellow). If I will run out of pill (I have 245 right now) - I will buy few in WTB-place. I believe that monsters are self-profitable. For example today I got 2 binding of destruction, this is ~140,000 - for this money I can make them happy for half year and more. ^_~
And i don't buying crystals at all - army of low-levers with 60 PL is my credo =)

happy pills are the best (and cheapest) way to do so. don't even think about starting a monster lab if you're not willing to dump a few credits in pills every now and then.
btw, the most optimal strategy is to wait until bar becomes yellow and then feed them with a pill. you're safe for a few days and there's a certain chance they will bring you a gift in the meanwhile

i can suggest you plenty of ways. for example, a Willow Staff of the Owl. or a Redwood of the Fox. or a 1st gen Gossamer set. they are also tremenduously cheap, since they can't sell so much. a real deal (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/ph34r.gif)

problem is, high-quality Shields are quite rare and ranges were fucked pretty much everywhere - as all gears prior to 0.82. results may not be so accurate.

nah. Scythes used to have highest ADB, and Longswords a bit lower than now. but they started to become redundant, so they were merged into the actual Longswords - who have ADB quite closer to old Scythes, afaik

yes, they are heavy-type and yes, they stack multiplicatively. when a Shield + its ability already gives you 60%, expect for one Shield piece to add less than half of its Block or. never tried with more than one piece but i guess you would have to choose between 7500 ADB/60% block and 2500 ADB/70% block, actual numbers slightly varying depending on how much you forge such pieces. something like that.

it has lower ACC than a Longsword though - which is already low to begin with. plus, Scythes ranges are really fucked: there are even pieces without Crit or without ACC, random.

pretty much what i wrote in the edit. again, bragging rights only. one Shielding piece may be useful for low-levels who are in a bit of trouble, but more than that is only a waste of firepower. also, being them basically Plate armors they have high BUR, so you will easily go past 70BUR threshold - which means less crit.

yes, you're wrong. please find me a pair of Shield Boots (with low base roll to begin with and low slot multiplier) with 15% Block. and even if you can reach it with forging, still better to forge Cuirass for better ROI (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)
