afaik back then there were a team of three people starting this project, but then shit happened.
most likely he's very skilled with programming, but consider also this site is undergoing costant changes. such infrastructure is the result of 10+ years of work, it's not been gifted to us within 7 days.

however yep, there should be a team of people helping him with various branches (from sorta-of vice-admins wikified joe and binglo to most recent additions dave and jenga) but he should be the only one having access to main database and such.

If all the right rules are in place, the person in charge doesn't really have to do much themselves on a day-to-day basis (unless they feel like it). (I use a similar technique in auctions (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/smile.gif))

Still, it is a little bit worrying to have just one person (apparently) with top-level access, if that is really the case. A huge number of people love E-H and wouldn't want anything permanent to happen in case of accident/health/legal issues to one person. Well, hopefully there's something in place, but I wouldn't know.

apart for that, there are also (even high-level!) donations on the pot. afterall, for how much you can have bought it via credits, someone other still HAS to have sent BTC to the site.

however, the 'shit happened' i was referring is that back then Tenboro had some troubles with his then-partner (who is quite easy to find in Member list, btw (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) ). i don't remember if he was the one explaining it or not, so better wait for someone else to confirm.
