I've actually been thinking about setting up an auction website for some time.

Sure it is. I have an idea.

To be a little harsh - I dislike 80% of modern CG movies and cartoons and all Kungfu Pandas in particularity. I do know all this CG are bland for me, like no soul in it. Hard to explain, but I better watch hard-writen cartoons or live action movies than CG-based =(

I find this odd, coming from a data-driven person who had set out to get the approximate market value for all items and equipment.

Do legendary drop based on current stamina level is hard find to discover and take a long time to find on. To be fair I do not know how exactly to count it and prove.
First at all I need ~300 energy drinks.
Then I need to force my stamina ~20 and beat around 20,000 rounds (Superlatanium stated on 40,000, but mamma-mia it is very-very long O_o). All this time I do not need to fail riddlemaster (I still do this sometimes) and do not need to train my drops. When my stamina is around 11 I need to use one drinks. Then I am counting how many legendary and magnificent I have collected in this time.
Then I need to force my stamina above 50 and do same thing again on higher stamina.
Then I need to compare data and take in account some "infelicity".

I would like to do this research, but I am do not have enough energy drinks and patient xD

Totally I got yesterday 3 legendary and 8 magnificent

And I am not so "data-driven person", I dont know one my friend ^^

Well, if you want to make a proper offsite auction house, you'll have to access MM anyway, to act as sort of an escrow account, so just send auth mails via MM (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

I was thinking about something like this for mine but I think there are too many participants, many of whom don't understand English all that well. Some would make use of it, but most wouldn't, probably.

You just need to translate the site in multiple languages (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) (english, chinese and japanese are probably enough)

errrr. isnt chrome build in translator not enough ?

I am interested in filehosting that can provide this features:
1) link to graphic file - not a link on page where picture I uploaded is located, but on a image itself (without all this dashboard, UI and other stuff - just plain image)
2) link to same file but as preview and where I can personally decide which size of preview should be
3) link [img][/img]-format that will allow me to sideload pictures on whatever site/forum I would like
4) ability to download image just with plain "right click - save as"
5) features to change format, quality, resize, e.t.c. "on a fly"
All this features I have found in radikal =(

chrome built-in translator in particular and Google Translate in general are pretty much tools for kids.
a while ago i had to deal with a certain user in this forum (i guess he was Japanese) who basically had to communicate via online translators. albeit not available for all languages, he complimented with me when i switched to [translation.babylon.com] Babylon translator. he still didn't sell his goodies, but at least i know such translations are on a whole other class.
a note about banners: i don't see them since i use a good anti-advert, but being it a free service i cannot exclude there are some.

There is no way we can manage APIs. The only think I can imagine here is:
1) The one who want take a part in auction should mail to auctioneer
2) Auctioneer create a account for this person and send login & password back to him
3) Person move on site, paste login and password and start make bids.

It is hardcorish way o_o

there are external sites (like Pinterest, iirc) that allows you to login via fb or GMail accounts, isn't it a feasible way? naturally you should clearly advertise here on EH forum that they are related to you, otherwise people may think about a scam...

I set up the an external authentication for an auction site... never went further with development of the front end, though.

It worked well if you generate a public key that the user puts in their signature. Then the server can check to make sure that the user account on your server corresponds to the user id on the forums.

Agreed. Old style cg and movies are way better.
Keep 3d for real things, that's my thought.
