Drama with specific users aside, eleeinos does have a good point. It should be considered rude behavior when rich folks habitually spend a good deal of effort on acquiring gear they'll almost certainly never use, while denying others who legitimately want to use it. Are there people who do this? Maybe.
Sure, the rich folks have the funds, they're allowed to use it as they wish, but when it frequently creates serious problems for others without providing the one who gets it any meaningful benefit, it's not something they should do.

That's part of the game balance. If higher-earning gear didn't tend to get siloed and not used, the game would have to generate less of it.

Rich or not, there are certain type of players who like to collect stuffs and let them gather dust in their Inventory.....They are called "Collectors". Can you think of anybody that actually does this? I can't. Bring up specific drama, again. I still DO need a waki. That fact hasn't changed. QUOTE(eleeinos @ Nov 9 2015, 17:24) Why would you even bid for items you don't even need? It's things like this that ruin the game for everyone else... (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/mad.gif) This quote just pissed me off to no end because I specifically don't bid on equipment I won't use.

OK, OK, maybe I did get you mixed up with StonyCat, I looked back on the last 100 or so weapon lotteries and I saw his name way more often than yours. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/blink.gif) I guess you're right about that. But I'm also right about players deliberately grabbing good stuff even if they don't need them, just because "they can". I'm glad Superlatanium above realized what I'm saying. And for the record, I could say the same thing about your quotes, saying that you bid on the Nimble waki while you openly state that you prefer the Swift one from the auction. If you've got the funds, buy 1 billion tickets and win the peerless one. But why must you have both? (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/mellow.gif) QUOTE(gc00018 @ Nov 10 2015, 22:59) Real life will only be worse, no take away your equipment but your wife~ (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) Why do you keep insisting that the only alternative to HV is real life? (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/blink.gif) I'm sure there's got to be a third option... (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) And we actually do have Real Life right here, and it ain't that bad... (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

Everybody realizes what you're saying. And I countered with 'who does that?'... Still haven't seen anybody answer that question. You should re-check how lotteries actually work AND how easy it is for any player to 'max' their bid out. It is very unlikely that I would have won that lottery, and it is more unlikely (due to timezones) that I will win the auction.

Heh... No matter how hard I play HV, I can't compete with some lucky guys.
The whiner's 300+ crappy legendaries vs. the chosen one's 1 Peerless Radiant Phase...
It's a frustrating thing.

So when the poor folks acquire gears they'll almost certainly never use for a good price (heck, some of them don't even play), they're considered to be helpful. But when rich folks do the same, they're rude? You should put it more like this > Does the money go into my pocket? If yes, good, otherwise, bad.
