Huh. PF RE still isn't profitable even with OFC.
In 15 PF RE runs:
Out the gate I need a stronger Protection spell than IA can provide because of the monster hits (and the first IA is going to go to Spark of Life and not Protection), so that means a Scroll of Protection. Though spirit shield actually kicks in a lot here and I have Regen up, I am still getting mauled when 10 mobs come up. So I gotta use Scroll of Protection and I still get Spark'd almost every time I do PF, so I wind up resorting to Scroll of Gods partways in anyway. Then I gotta use a mana draught, then a potion. And this is even after I've hit 3 mobs with sleep and weakened a bunch more; the damage is only truly mitigated when I hit the known magic/spirit-using mobs with 3-mob Silence. Of course after Silence is fired off I usually have enough OC to launch an OFC and then FRIENDZONE IS TRAGIC (for the mobs, that is)!!!
But I've spent a Scroll of Protection, a mana draught, a mana pot, usually a Scroll of Gods, and sometimes a health potion too. All for about 500K extra EXP vs IWBTH. So far the odds of an equipment drop are the same as with IWBTH: one pathetic leather non-shade Leg drop.
IWBTH on the other hand has me spending only 1 mana pot and 1 mana draught and the payback (>300 credits average) always exceeds the expenditure (150 credits).

RE is not the place to get profit (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/sleep.gif) RE just for soul fragment + lucky drop now (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) thanks to tenb for boosting RE drop since 0.82 (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/happy.gif) before that alot of HV player tend to skip RE including me (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/heh.gif) This post has been edited by nobody_xxx: Oct 26 2015, 19:08

PF would be worth the extra expenditure if it offered more than a measley 500K EXP differential. When PF is easy to do in RE I'll be ready for IWBTH DwD.

You are likely ready for it already assuming your stack of potions/draughts is high enough. Arenas start with less mobs so it is easier to get your buffs into play and keep your overcharge high. Right now PF RE is almost all I play since that is the only place where I ever get equipment upgrades. This post has been edited by Cronauron: Oct 26 2015, 22:44

I've gotten a small bunch of leg drops from IWBTH though. I will play PF now and then, at least twice a day. The thing with IWBTH DwD is.... time. The top dawgs here clock 45 minutes to 2 hours. I can't afford to waste 2 hours on Arenas total, much less one. I've got a real life video game to play and it's called raising kids. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) Hey, I think my daughter just leveled up in math..........

Like holy_demon said earlier, getting kids/people involved in numbers-based games is one of the best ways to get them interested with math/etc that they want to figure out themselves. I know I wouldn't be half as good as I am now at a whole slew of things were it not for HV and a bunch of other games.

They drop Phazons too. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) Oh, and almost all of them are either PL-25 or PL200. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/duck.gif) QUOTE(skillchip @ Oct 27 2015, 18:24) I spent more time on HV and math then on college work
