So, after the latest patch the price of hath is rapidly falling. Previously when patch introduced new hath perks, demand (and the price) was usually rising. Is there any damned bourgeois speculator esteemed market analyst willing to put forward the explanation, or there is no better hypothesis than "random fluctuations" ?

People have realised that all the new perk kinda sucks unless hath price fell to 5k? Low crystal price probably discourages them from unlocking the new crystarium (Pretty much all the major purchase in the first day of the patch, which drove price to 8k at one point, was done by crystal grinders)

Though I think it's more likely that some hath baron just dumped his entire saving (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

I think the new patch raised the minimum bid from 100 to 200. So those who put in a bid of 1k @ 100c before the patch may be able to keep their bids there for a while, until it runs out.

IMO there should not be any minimum price for anything in Item Shop Bot, and the 50% fee is way too much. It would be so much easier and efficient to buy and sell, but as it is now, selling items is nothing but a credit sink for idiots or non-English speakers.

I don't agree on case of minimal price. You are considering Item Shop Bot as makeshift auction, which it is not. It just automatically buys required items from shop when they become available, so it can't bring you items for lower price that it sells in Item Shop.

Though, i think it would be nice, if current item shop were transformed to simple item auction with no staple items and minimal price restriction.

The purpose is just to make the market more efficient, and to make buying/selling stuff easier in general. The system is completely programmed and usable - the only problem is that 50% loss that was added in for no apparent reason, making it near useless for sellers. Why not turn it into a usable auction-like system? It'd be a lot easier than the hundreds of threads in WTS/WTB of nearly identical item/material lists. It'd also let those who don't know English or are not confident enough to chat/message to participate without being heavily penalized.

The two issues are: those who just repeatedly bid "highest bid +1" on something. Solvable by only allowing one bid on a given item every ? hours. (but even without that, a usable ISB would still be a lot better than what we have now).

And, there is no list of how much is being bought at what price, so it is unknown how much one should sell without taking a loss on part of the transaction. But given enough participation, this wouldn't be much of a problem due to how little an ordinary sale is compared to the entirety of the market demand.

There are better places for a credit sink than the ISB.
