Why did IW prices go up when it should have gotten easier to get 5/4.

I don't remember anyone selling 5/4 IW before the patch that made it easier.

"450" = 401-450 range, "500" = 451-500 range, etc.
~1 gifts daily, 750+ slightly more because more chaosed.

You just had a lucky streak. They come and go. PL mostly doesn't matter for the rare mats.

I have 42 ~PL1000. Some times they might bring me 4 phazons in one day, other times I won't get one for 2 months. The only thing that helps is a higher frequency of mats being returned, which means more monsters and higher PL/chaos.

I've had this experience, too. Like most mechanics in this game, quality doesn't matter.. its all about frequency or quantity.
