as tenb said, the monsters get a level indicator (which so is not related to your own level, but rather to the leveling you put into your monster, like, how much you boosted it) and if this indicator is at or below your current level, you can encounter it.

in other words: freshly created monsters have lvl0, then you put some credits and chaos-tokens and crystals in it and boom, it's lvl. 12 or something. (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

Just now i took stupidity to a new level.
I maged To Kill a God and it took me about 50 rounds to notice im fighting with a club and a rapier (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

All monsters appear to start at level 0, and I would assume, level up as you upgrade them.

The sad thing is that this rapes the living bejeezus out of melees. If you run into a Legendary equivalent monster immune to your equipped weapon damage type, sucks to be you.

A mage with the necessary AP distribution only needs to change element. That + ET means we can always kill it somehow.

Also, newer players got screwed IMO. The gap between people who've been around for awhile and players just starting now or just before the patch just got even more insurmountably wide.

Fire 50
Cold 50
Elec 50
Wind 50
Holy 25
Dark 25 (fist spells are available after dinging 150 lvl, I guess)
Soul -50 (-||- 100+ lvl)

Unless you run into elemental legendary which is basically resistant to everything, but easy to defeat for melee ;O.

We can make huge elemental/piercing tanks with huge hp and miniscule strength. Whenever we encounter those, ET to death for full restore and channeling for max self-buffs.

I've done that before. Got about 40 rounds into an arena before I realized I was using my dagger + ethereal rapier xD

You can always switch back to your previous one ^^

There are no crystals to boost physical damage mitigations. Nor will there be.
