I've been keeping track of my salvaging in the last two weeks on a notepad, and I've salvaged 43 items that were exquisite; and 3 that were Magnifiicent.

I received 2 High-Grade Metals, 1 Low-grade cloth and the rest were mid-grades.

I don't really think anyone will care how it'll look as long as it does something. Cosmetics can always be changed afterward imo, the only thing that matters is what's under the hood.
Did Tenb really black out the lvl/credit/etc info? Maybe he's embarrassed. (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif)

Circles/Ovals instead? Everyone loves round things... Varying sizes of circles could be used to denote increments within each unit (ie medium/small circles if necessary or you can treat them like d2 life/mana globes and fill them up as they approach 100%)

I assume top part shows what you have "learned" thus far, possibly add a small number in the corner of each to denote what its "current level" is?

Depending on how many levels are involved, there can be a color coding used?

I know much of the mechanics involved for the new AP change so I'll refrain from adding any more. Maybe I sparked an idea or two? Donno.

I guess so... but other forms (like the ovals) can be used to represent partial filling as well, just as you said. I like ovals better than bars, yet the bars are actually good enough. Now HV will keep me reminding of this:

The new ability system looks scary. Barring how new spells and such are acquired, is this new system more or less a 1:1 replacement for the current one? Or will it force us to cut back on abilities and such just to get back to where we currently are in terms of HP/MP/SP and spell strength?
