They should have something but I think they are too high now with how easy it is now to get crystals/tokens and with no real way to counter some of it.

Right now they get to a ridiculous amount at your level, if they had our formulas ti wouldn't be so steep.

We have monster PL inflation.

As for melees you can be both fast and long lasting if you know what you're doing.

With future update I foresee shade+mace being more efficient than power+estoc, so I doubt melee will be significantly faster than mage.
Monsters' MMI is dropping to 60-70%, not to mention you get anti-resist with prof which drops again monsters' MMI, amirite ?
Mage's damage output will probably mainly stay, while melees still get a nerf imho.

But we don't know the numbers yet, and tenb said the outcome should be that prof gear gets better. Depending on how he tweaks the numbers, high prof might have more dmg output than regular EDB gear in current state.

Nah, having 10 monsters with 10% HP left is way more dangerous than having 1 monster with 100% HP. Remember the attacks from monsters, which will make a great difference on mages' paper defense.
