Absorb has too many issues to make it any use. Doesn't work on crits, only works when the attack is cast, not used, doesn't work all the time even if it meets the first two. Got to love how I can go hundreds of rounds and not have it used.
I've taken quite a liking to absorb recently now that there are more strong "caster" custom monsters. Although it depends somewhat on playstyle I guess. I couldn't care less about "use" skills, an agitated 501 spirit attack crit does like 8-15 SP damage to my SS, (out of a possible ~83) now a spirit attack from a weakened Celestia Lindwurm is 50+. I'll take the small MP cost (unsharded) for a chance to save a ton of SP anytime.
Now as a mage I can see it being less useful, as the physical skills hurt as much or more (?) and ideally monsters die more quickly.
