that's not so bad, more then a few times I've used shards on all my armor & weapon for 8 hours then spent about 30 mins playing (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

that's actually what i usually do. shard em, play 1 session, quit =P

So, how long does it take to become OP in HV?

It depends on the definition of OP, whether that's level 300, 350, 390 or some other.
If you're thinking about about something close to level 300, it will take between 2 and 3 months with about 6 hours of daily game-play, it's hard to go faster than this unless that player is a "miracle maker" or bribe donate to get in Camarilla. In 6 months it should be doable, obviously varying from player to player and technique.

Well, some can go 1-270 in a week, but OPness comes more from awesome gear with several dozen forge upgrades than level difference between 300 and 400.
Of course, the latter helps.

just upgrade your gear when it takes LG-MG and only use HG on the stats that need it. Its when it takes 5HG for every upgrade that it starts to suck.

Ah, i meant i only got 2 levels period; it seems quality rating is >.9, ie lvl 1-2 takes 5 MG, lvls 3-6 will cost me 1 HG, 4 MG.

My estoc hasn't hit the HG wall yet, so i didn't really consider it would be different for the helm. Only got a handful of HGs so not prepared to sink em yet.
