I've just been going into a 0/146 item world on IWBTH and beating things down with a staff until they give up their precious proficiency boosts (and soaking a crapton of cherry tap attacks for cloth prof). Is there some easier way I'm missing, Tiap?

I don't think you should be being hit by monsters that much though. My staff and cloth prof are quite similar tbh. Any time you magic missile you already have been hit.

But I figure it'd be easier if I played on BT or IWBTH, alas they're not very suited for mages.
