Well, I don't give hints because I don't know. The Next Big Thing™ still needs more work even for an initial release, and it will still by no means be done in 5.0. How much time I have to spend on HV is inversely related to how much time I need to spend on the rest of the site, and lately there's not been much left to spare.

Can we make a list of people that shouldn't be trusted for auctions to warn auctioners, so that they may not even be allowed to bid? Because it's really annoying that people do high bids to scare off people and then back down or even leave the auctions >.> . And it's not that they did it just ONCE, but in many auctions. I already have already 2 in mind ...

In my defense, I'm working to prevent this from happening in future auctions, so please don't put me on that list yet. I'm working ever so hard on making sure that it doesn't happen in the future (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Well I remember doing something like that once.
Same reason I don't like auctions. Sometimes people put them up for as long as A WEEK. ALOT can happen in that time, you can find an item you needed yourself. Or some other auction appears that is more important.
It's not always the fault of bidders, but a risk you should take when you're auctioning something. Especially if you decide to make an auction that takes up to a week. (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/dry.gif)

The item is still worth something. You can auction it off again (and get the same price--when you put down the bid, you thought it was worth that much, so there should be others who think so too).

A cryptic Twitter post some time before you think it'll be ready would suffice, no need for hard and fast dates and schedules. The excitement it'll build will also give us something to look forward to. "Will the update be today? Maybe tomorrow? I can't wait." A few days notice would have been great when you put the inventory limit in, I had to dump thousands of pieces immediately because of my packrat ways. Something like "Hey guys, inventory limit of 1000 is going to be implemented in an upcoming patch, so start selling your garbage. Just saying."

a) Can you tell us if it'll be retroactive? Because I'd like my Plate Suit I never use anymore to be useful again if Heavy gets that buff it so desperately needs now that its no longer OP.
b) Neat. Does that mean we'll have to rebuild our armories to make use of this new functionality once it finally does go live, or is it something that can affect everything? Like, say, re-rolling equipment stats with those tokens Snowflake's been giving out?

That would be great as long as it's only rolling the stat for the new functionality. I don't want my equips turning into crap just to add a novelty effect.

There will indeed be a number of balancing changes in the next patch, but they will only affect equipment generated after the patch. As it looks now, there will be 34 changes to 12 different gear classes.
