There are lot of things you could use them for. Prof grinding can be done on anything, but with a crude/flimsy anyone could play 100s of rounds on IWBTH for gear or other stuff. IW are easier then GF and take less stamina. Items use to have a loot quality or something so drops were always better then doing GF or arenas.

Since I offered my proof, has anyone seen the Archmage potency roll on a destruction staff yet? Or a Butcher roll even?

EDIT: I hope I'm not giving the Trollboro any ideas... But I don't think Archmage rolls on melee weapons right? But economizer on slaughter weapons would be godly... Just imagine 5 Butcher/5 Economizer...

10x Economizer for me, thanks.

Patch notes say max potency level for any one stat is 5.

EDIT:

Except for the Level 10 weapon unlock, there are five levels to each Potency, so while you could potentially get one level of each, it is not possible to max every Potency for a given piece of gear.

...which Tenboro probably didn't even code since all staffs inherently drop with crit now.
