QUOTE(skillchip @ Jul 21 2012, 21:44) Once your staff says 100%, you won't miss. You will just be evaded, and resisted, and probably troll parried to make you go WTF
Nah, if you have 100% accuracy, you won't get evaded, resisted or parried. Two patches ago. Then the first part of monster upgrades came and suddenly 100% doesn't actually mean 100% anymore. Funny thing, I bought a legendary focus staff a few days ago to test this very thing, and right before I finished leveling it I found this staff. Good thing I decided not to use my mats on it before it was leveled. Now I'm left with a useless test pieces that I don't know what to do with.

Here's the interesting bit that I kept asking here and there for a while now: Did monsters (except the dragons in D&D) could actually E/P/R our attack/spell 2 patches ago, or did we all just being delusional about it? ... (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif) PS. It would be funny if anyone attempt to answering this by citing Tenb words... (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/heh.gif) ... AFAIK all of his info regarding this were extremely vague and almost impossible to interpret precisely. This post has been edited by buktore: Jul 22 2012, 05:12

QUOTE(dcherry @ Jul 21 2012, 17:52) You sure about that? Considering the time it took you find this staff... On the bright side, at least you can easily hit 100% accuracy now ^^
It was supposed to end here and that latter statement after "at least" was supposed to be the joke. Not a LOLOLOLOL joke but was meant to make readers smile - not go "wut?" Well... accuracy doesn't really matter at all now... lol... Just resell the staff. And I think theorycrafting is alright. As long as you're doing it right. This post has been edited by dcherry: Jul 22 2012, 05:12

He didn't lie. That was before the forge was implemented.
Also, I'm not the first person to have 100% accuracy, I just got it today. The reason why I know you couldn't miss with 100% accuracy prior to 0.6.8 was because a reliable source told me.
Edit: Anyone wanna sell me 2 H-G Wood? Need it to test something and just ran out of wood.

Tenb didn't lie, but I don't think the automatic (forced) leveling thing isn't in his mind when he said that. How much time do a player need to reach lv.400+ without that daily 10% EXP bonus?

Sent you 2. You can buy or just give them back whenever your monsters brought you some.

I couldn't wait and already paid a ridiculous price for them earlier. But sure I'll take yours as well.

CODE Magic Accuracy = 1 - (1 - base) * (1 - equip_bonus) * (1 - aura_bonus) * (1 - prof_bonus) * (1 - WIS * 0.1%) * (1 - INT * 0.04%) If you have a staff have more than 100% accuracy, you will never miss or this formula is wrong. By the way there is no need to nerf it because of resist/parry/evade and i am sure the countermeasures will never get you to bypass them at 100%

So it's not a rounding error, just an error, yet it shouldn't be fixed. I'm sure that will go over well with Tenboro. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) Anyway, this looks like a 10 second fix, so I'm sure it will be gone pretty soon.

Not like it'd do anything now considering the practical accuracy of players is well around 70%.
Could be a perfect time to employ linear diminishing returns though! Yep yep.

Since it's pretty apparent people don't like to read, guess I'll reiterate a few points.
1) There is no rounding error, it is what it says, 100% accuracy. Now whether that means 100% chance to land hits is a different story.
2) Fix? Why fix it in a future patch when it was already "fixed" in 0.6.8?
Interestingly, after some testing, there's no noticeable difference between 95%, 99%, or even 100% accuracy. The usuals still resist/evade like a slut. Since accuracy means jack shit, the only thing focus is good for is its mana conservation. Then again I do get 100-200 rounds further in using it than with my destruction staff so I'm kinda conflicted as to what to feel here. :3

You should explain to this guy about your findings. That would be very interesting. (Go thorough his arguments about how good magical accuracy is) (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) And at your level, focus staff may work better; you deal so much damage that it longer matters (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)
