Let tell ya something: You finally made it to the last round. Then you see 501th, Lisi, Eliza, and other It-Got-Over-9000-HP girls waiting for you at the last round. You desperately drink Mana and Spirit Potions, re-buff Shadow Veil, X-Nerf, Spark, or whatever you do to survive and cast Ragnorok/Banish/Storm of Njord, but these girl simply laugh at your wimpy ED-worthy damage and simply double-tap you with critical, non-magical attacks. Then you died. This is when you just realized that you have now wasted hours just for this, because you resisted the urge to convert into melee. On side note, I just breezed through Hard T&T arena, took only 20 minutes (because I have to be careful in the 99th round not getting killed by 501th and Lisi), down from 50min spent in Normal T&T. Not sure whether it is because of the bleed damage or that Longsword of Slaughter much higher level than my lvl167 Estoc. Thanks, aiwotorimodose , ExTe, and mustardpie, thank you for the item loan!

I think it's the level difference, that's all. With equal damage, I think estoc would win out on killing speed. You should try to get a good estoc and see the difference (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

If you find the correct difficulty, then maging is extremely efficient.

You should try to get a good estoc and see the difference (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) The key word is good estoc. It is in popular demand, like Scythe in pre-Bleed-nerf day and Mace before the stun nerf, those sell quite high. For now, I am going to use loaned weapon to cut me some Yggdrasil branches everyday My best toy simply cant compete with what ExTe and mustardpie loaned to me. You dont actually need an ethereal estoc. Even a normal feathered estoc is awesome thanks to PA. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

True. This was one of the reasons maging was so popular back in the day. Simply cause you can hit every single mob with one spell. Even now I can one shot rounds on hard/hell (assuming no over 9000 mobs). But all of that changed when mobs can suddenly resist/evade your spells for 3-7 rounds in a row (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/sleep.gif) Btw, I still call bs on this. Something is wrong with the system when a mob can evade 5 times in a row your 95% hit chance :S

Monster /resist/evade is a little over the top right now but I'm sure Tenb will bring something to fix that at some point.

I hope so (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/huh.gif) I don't mind the HP or the dmg on high PL mobs, but the fact that they can resist 3-7 times in a row is fucking retarded :S If tenb fixes that, I just might be able to return to doing IWBTH arenas, not normal arenas (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

You might as well play Hard just so you have a chance at better shard drops. The differences are otherwise negligible.

Yeah hard is a good floor for difficulty. For people without Crystarium, it means 2 crystal drops instead of 1, and you can get voidseeker and aether shards. Its also very easy and fast.

So... Just out of curiosity did a few calculations. If I use a godly HP pot, I get: 14,064 HP in 11 turns If I use a godly mana pot, I get: 580mana in 5 turns. That let's me cast cure II 5 times That equals to: 29,545 HP in 6 turns
Does anyone use HP pots? Ever? :S
