Got the Astral Mace, tested it out

1 8 Regen II restores 549 points of health.
1 7 You evade the attack from Mr Handsome.
1 6 Typist hits you for 562 piercing damage.
1 5 Elemental Strike hits Typist for 735 soul damage.
1 4 Tehanu gains the effect Stunned.
1 3 You hit Tehanu for 820 crushing damage.
1 2 You hit Mr Handsome for 908 crushing damage.
1 1 You hit Typist for 2310 crushing damage.

First thing to know is that those Elemental Weapon cannot spread the elemental damage beyond the primary target, unlike the Ethereal.

1 12 Regen II restores 549 points of health.
1 11 Tehanu hits you for 320 crushing damage.
1 10 Applejack crits you for 622 piercing damage.
1 9 Yagyuu Kyuubei hits you for 525 slashing damage.
1 8 Rending Blow hits Applejack for 4641 crushing damage.
1 7 Applejack gains the effect Penetrated Armor.
1 6 Rending Blow hits Tehanu for 2403 crushing damage.
1 5 Tehanu gains the effect Penetrated Armor.
1 4 Rending Blow hits Yagyuu Kyuubei for 5707 crushing damage.
1 3 Yagyuu Kyuubei gains the effect Penetrated Armor.
1 2 You gain the effect Chain 2.
1 1 You use Rending Blow.

The second thing is the elemental damage dont "carry over" to weapon skills, unlike the Ethereal

Third, if monster parry/resist/block/evade or you missed the attack, the elemental damage will not proc


Fourth, obivously the elemental damage is affected by EDB and monster's elemental resist stats


So, those item will only be a cheaper alternative to the Ethereal, just like how Ox/Fox was to Slaughter/Destruction. In my opinion, only Hallowed (for FSM) will be more popular than the other types and it is better to buy Ethereal if you can afford one

True, but I rather let those Catgirl players to do the testing, I am just a poor below-the-average joe who barely do Arena session everyday.

What I am posting is just the first-hand feel of what it is like using Elemental weapons that act as permanent infusion.

I think there are still a lot of kinks to be worked out for the elemental strike system. Currently it seems to be missing a lot of things.

Like Domino Strike, for instance.

No problem. was just sharing my thoughts on the elemental weapons as well. it just seemed realli potent to me as the EDB are also upgradeable thru forge.(No Soul EDB materials yet now thou)

i think tenboro not only tighten the monsters damage range. he also tightened the loot's RNG range as well (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)
