I live in Vietnam, and my ping to the server is 350-400 on a good day. And yet, on that good day I can cruise through 3-4 rounds a second, holding a button.

Someone who is determined to camp the bazaar, with 20-50 ping to the server can easily get many more than that. And maybe the camper has an advanced script that spot valuable bindings and click it for him/her, so they only need to click buy + enter? It's pretty easy to do that 5 times a second.

That, or the person knows roughly how often bindings respawn, and only camp during those times.

Nope, and that's not a guess. Only crystals are generated by the Bazaar now. Any other equipment or items you see were sold by a player.

But I don't disagree that there are shop bots. I've seen them in action, buying things in 0.1 seconds.

In fact, I even received this very peculiar message through Moogle the last time I complained about someone botting Vigor crystals, which happened for about an 8 hour duration:

btw, yesterday I lost about 2k vigors from buying crystals too fast. that was when I clicked mad to get some vigors and bought everything that appeared. exactly where I bought some devotions.
today you can sell vigors off to the bazaar and can buy them back within ~3 seconds. still a screw up for me because I use to check only like every few minutes when watching tv or doing anything else but playing.

I won't name names yet, but how exactly do you lose 2k crystals you are trying to acquire and buy the wrong type by clicking too fast? And of course you could buy them in 3 seconds after the bot is gone, because that's a normal human reaction speed. Not the 0.1 seconds I see frequently, complain about, and get blown off by Tenboro when it disappears, which just invites them to come back later and repeat the whole cycle.

Yes. And I said it should be triggered randomly. A small chance that it's triggered after you clicked the Buy button.
In fact 50% off is still above the selling price.. so it's still a credit sink.

But would it make that much of difference? Right now there's this mysterious bot that snatches them. So would it hurt you if you randomly (on rare occasions) lost just cuz you triggered the captcha? In return it would kill any bots so.. it seems like a good trade-off to me.

My response time is about 230 ms. My connection's latency is about 70 ms.

Anyone, absolutely anyone, even slugs can get something from the bazaar in less than a second.

I wouldn't be surprised if people snatched stuff away in less than half a second without a bot, just camping it for hours and repeating the same movements over and over.

It's a sad way to play this game, but they get the swag (more often than not, at least).

With latency in the 250 ms range it can't be helped if people with faster conections grab the stuff right under your nose. The crucial point is that an item might be avaiable before you even requested a refresh: someone else may have spotted it before you even saw it on your screen. It's a matter of hundreds or even just tens of milliseconds, but that's all it takes to beat you to the punch.
