From the wording, one would infer that whenever 1 crystal drops, you'll receive 1 more. Therefore I was expecting my drops in Normal Crysfest to increase to 4, since it was 2x before. Utterly disappointed to see it increases to 3x only.
I wonder why Tenb made crystal drops multiplied when shrining artifacts, but not when they drop.
It's indeed doubled, just not in the way you thought:
You'll get 1 crystal per drop on normal difficulty without any crystal perks; the bonus that start at the first round of crysfest will immediately bring that to 2 crystals, as it's a roundup. When you get crystal perk 1, your normal drop is doubled; therefore you get 2 crystals on normal difficulty. However, for crysfest the number is still rounded up, so you'll get 3 crystals.
Thus, it seems like the drops' not doubled, but that's due to some specific design of crysfest.
