Legendaries arenas haven't been hard for a long time since 'non-elitist mage' whiners did nothing but complain about how hard they were or how long it took. Now they complain that they're too easy. Obviously you'll never be satisfied.

And farming the 5 legendary arenas is hardly grandiose now. Most top players should be able to complete them all in less than 30 minutes on Normal.

I don't remember having ever advocated a toning down of the game difficulty, tough.

And last time I checked, I don't have a nulla osta to speak in stead of the whole humankind. Not yet, at least.

What's more, I find it difficult to be against or root for easyriding when one hasn't even tried it out at least once.

Now that I've tried it once, I can assure everyone that if you prepare enough and don't mindlessly powerlevel leaving profs and gear way underleveled, later arenas are easily beatable even without exceptional gear.

Don't cut corners, it won't pay in the end.

re: iwbth schoolgirl arenas: the only real trick is to make sure you last long enough by way of sufficiency (illithid) damage output (ethereal) and preventing damage intake (mace)

the hard part was doing them when the rounds were 200,300,400...

skillchip can you have an experiment to see whether protection works as tenboro said (that if 50% -> 50%- (1-(50%/4)) -> 56.25% thing) or whether it works as (1-(z1*1.25))(1-(z2*1.25))(1-(z3*1.25))(1-(z4*1.25))(1-(z5*1.25)) on top of your str+end mitigation

with the amount of damage reduction it gives to plate, i'm willing to believe it's the latter

oh wow if i'm reading this right protection is a wonderful spell for heavy armor and pretty good with light armor

also, can you test Shadow Veil with high burden? it seems to have a reduced effect (in total, not relatively; it seems like I'm getting no evade at all from SV with a gimmick +burden set)

Actually I think it's a good idea to still scare the bejesus out of the little kids (<220 players (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)). Simple reason being other than this arena, there's really no need for them to improve their profs at all.

All that preparation will work out fine for everything else, not just for EOD.
