A minor bug with trophies have been fixed. It was intended to have a 2-5x increase in dropping rare equipment types, but for some reason or another it actually gave a 2-5x increase in dropping shit equipment types. Oops. I blame my cat pony that was on my keyboard.

Makes me wonder. WHY is katalox so rare? No other equipment type is anywhere near that rare, and its not like most katalox drops end up being good anyways.

katanas and tower shields are about as rare as kata staves i believe. so it's not just kata staves

I've give you tower shields since I've never had one drop for me before, but I've had plenty of katana drops.

it's luck. when you have low odds of each it'll come down to luck. i don't think i've had more than 2 katana drop for me in the last 2 weeks but i've gotten at least 4 kata staves and only 1 tower shield iirc.

Because the "tier 2" staffs are incomprehensibly rare compared to the tier 2 weapons for 1H and 2H. So the odds scale even worse for the tier 3 staffs, as opposed to seeing the now-maligned scythes/wakizashis/katanas once every 25 drops.

Really, you should be seeing willow/owl as commonly as you see axes and rapiers.

Of course, the likely change would be that we're going to see shortswords and longswords as commonly as you get redwood (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)
