I wonder why he does not want to change it. Some slight tweaks to the stats and HP boosts of monsters and let me create a Nyaruko and the game would be more fun again. Well or at least you don't get an arrow to the knee with each level up.

Make it Nyarlathotep. Or you could just 'Frith' it and make Nyaruk0 or Nyarlko. Chances are the person with Nyaruko will never level it up far enough for anyone to see anyway.

I bet he'll not do it, 'cause he know: when another random anime starring some generic cute loli will appear you'll want to make another loli monster, and if the name will be taken - everything will repeat. (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/sleep.gif)

This is why I make no attempt to make monsters with anime character names. All but the most obscure are taken, and there's no way of getting them from squatters. Monster names should be recycled if they don't win at least one battle every month. That way people that want to level certain monster names would (eventually) get a chance to do so if the current nameholder was doing little or nothing.

I would suggest a copyright system where you need to pay monthly to keep a monster's name.
And for common names we can even have an auction (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

I had suggested that monsters have a generic name and the custom name be unlocked at plvl 50 100 or so. I still stand by that suggestion.

ie you create an Avion, and it is then [Player Name]'s Avion until you level it sufficiently to name it.

I think it's better like it's now. When obvious names are taken - people are forced to be creative. You don't need to be an Einstein to create monster named "Haruno Sakura" or "Kuchiki Rukia", but when all that is taken - you have no choice but use your brain, which is a nice thing to do. Important notes for any research:
1. Don't make any presumptions.
2. Don't make any presumptions.
3. Don't make any presumptions.

Sense is needed for conclusions, not assumptions.
Is your data in excel form? If you think it's okay I may take a quick look of it. Not sure if it helps though.

might have to do with the generation of item? ie a "fine" item back then may only be an "average" now?

so do arenas completely suck ass for anyone else?

I randomly get a good item every now and then (superior eth club of slaughter from 2nd round on hard) usually on normal or hard to boot, but it'll never be from the last round/arena reward.

Especially sad is never gotten a single equip worth a damn from my highest lvl arenas. Been running through the 170 arena w/ progressively higher difficulty, and it's been crap followed by crap followed by worse crap. Just did it nightmare too; yay 2 health potions (superior & greater) and 4 crystals, and a godly mana potion for reward. *sigh* I don't even want to do them cuz of the xp bonus, but the prospect of "better drops" has to kick in sometime i'd like to think. Ugh maybe I'll try Hell tomorrow, or just not bother w/ arenas.

Use to use HVstats to track my arenas/drops/rewards, but its not like i need to know how many times I get useless shit, so I've stopped.

I've gotten nothing useful, that's for sure.

I usually just dump everything I get from the arena into the bazaar.
