God this is so fucked up, so much for my gf saying I can play when it is this broken, took so much effort to finally one shot a random encounter so it finished

For some utterly bizarre reason, all the memory object caches had decided to terminate, which has been causing major issues.

Whenever something like this happens, expect there will be some flickering in the next few hours/days.
