I've just checked the monster naming thread.

Yes, I know, there's no name rule public enforcement anymore. I was just curious, in a morbid kind of way.

I believe that thread was actually an ultra-secret social experiment about self restraint gone so well there's no need for it any longer. The dead giveaway is the rule «Don't use misleading names. "Bob the Dragon" better be a god damn Dragon» though the real one to blame for the "Weak Against" spread is whoever kindly suggested the damn thing in the ehwiki.

The whole idea of leaving to the users the task to find rule breakers and suggest solutions went diagonally above and beyond my worst expectations, with people complaining about stuff like "Wee Man shouldn't be a giant but a humanoid because I fail to grasp irony". I can just imagine the whole weeks agonizing over "Genma"... Is it humanoid? Is it beast? Ye gods...

But the worst has yet to come: I don't think I've ever read suggestions as bad as those on that thread: non-active players' monster removal or handover to someone else, usucapion of monsters (under the false pretense of donating crystals, heh). The obvious question is: what's the friggin' point in allowing that? Most of this has been addressed by long time players in that thread along with the worst of it all: lobbying and mobbing.

Still, someone with a modicum of common sense should monitor the situation and the public custom monster list can be useful, even just to know who created what or to point out offensive names missed by the monster patrol.

Only Monsters based on World War 2 Pilots needs to be deleted!

When there are people who're dumb enough to vote down a notice of removal on non-h commercial mangas, I start to doubt if any rules would help.

I'm just pissed at people who create monsters and then leave them on awfully low levels (PL<10), meaning no one will actually meet them. That's a waste of perfectly good names that could have gone to other critters.
This would have been a good solution, but heh.
In other news, someone created an Ao Kiji Elemental. Now I feel like leveling up my Aokiji Giant. (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

Personally, I like the idea of "unlocking" the name slot once you've leveled up enough your spikey. Still, one should find a way to avoid something like "Hoheneim's humanoid 01", "Hoheneim's humanoid 02" and so on...

I thought about making the hulk but wasn't sure what kind of monster he should be. Mostly thought either giant or human but then if hes human might as well name him bruce banner.

Was thinking about making hajime no ippo too. Any suggestions for his special attack? There is the gazelle punch (sp), dempsey roll, or 6 centimeters of death. (not really a special move but he trained so that his punches would still hurt in a clinch).

well i don't think his name is hajime no ippo.. i thought it was M_____ ippo mokuniuchi or w/e? and i'd say dempsey roll hands down. i don't even remember the gazelle punch. and that 6 centimer shit was total garbage

yea, thats his name, atleast something like that. I just figured maybe a couple of people would recognize him more for the shows title than his actual name.

The gazelle punch was supposed to be using both his arms and leg muscles in a super uppercut. I like dempsey roll but it would be cooler if he had that dw skill like we do. Just so he can keep knocking everytkhing around. Not only that but its used defensively too. So while hes using it, his evade should go up but thats not going to happen.

But yea, 6 centimeters was too unrealistic.

Was also thinking about putting the making another guy from that same show. The one who never lost a fight. But I forgot his name...
