Not really. Real auctions have a secret reserve price that sellers want (minimum,) and if the auction ends lower than that price, then they just don't sell. In fact they don't even have to award the auction to the highest bidder if they don't want to.

Putting a minimum bid that actually reflects the amount one would be willing to sell an item for would save a good bit of trouble in our case though... I mean, we are just bidding on a string of text as the prize...

In light of recent events... To make absolutely sure, how are basic assist scripts (not bots) looked upon? As in, all it does is cycle 123456789 in a loop, so as to not give myself carpal tunnel when cake grinding. You can't bot with it, it might last 60 seconds without human input. I'd been testing it out, and got a basic loop working, but if assist scripts are frowned on please let me know. If they're allowed though it'd be nice to know also, save my hands some stress.

Unfortunately I cant find the answer to quote directly, but the gist was most definitely no scripts/macros at all that do anything for you. The only scripts allowed are visual aids like cmal's HV STAT.

damn... and here i was thinking of figuring out how to do macros and go 2 handed on cake fest...

dunno if it's actually cheating, seeing that even mouses and keyboards can have built-in macro's these days. When i was a meleei spammed a random number on my num pad and sometimes pressed enter to advance to the next level. I guess that some people don't like to do something as boring.

Essentially, all macros that automate input or require only limited human input are banned. I permanently closed an account as recently as yesterday for using those.

However, if someone maps a macro button on their keyboard to use the official keyboard shortcuts to open the magic menu and cast Cure or something like that - used as an extension of the spell bar - it's not something that can get you banned. Note however that if you try to bind on events outside of the official keystrokes, there are traps in the system that can nail you for that automatically.

Why would it be none of our business? If it's something personal between just TB and boggy, then I would understand but this affects all of us. No macroing,cheating, etc are all common sense and doing those things is just asking for a ban. If doing something more obscure also qualifies on getting banned I think it would be best if everyone knows what that is.

Well, what everyone seems to be getting at is that it probably wasnt related to the HV. So as long as you are following the site rules you are fine.
